'Johnson' now set for Autumn opening
West Yorkshire Playhouse Seems that Patrick will now be appearing in the production of 'Johnson over Jordan' at West Yorkshire Playhouse in Leeds this autumn according to the news page of the theatre's web site.

The recent BBC Leeds Online article stated June as the opening month, but it looks like the normally reliable beeb got their facts wrong...from a logistics point of view June would have appeared unlikely, as Patrick's busy schedule this year will see 'Boss Lear' shooting in April and May - leaving little time for rehearsals for 'Johnson'.

Rumours also abound that X-Men2 will begin production towards the end of this year....blimey - replace 'busy' with 'hectic' schedule, in the paragraph above!

'Give Me Talk' Stewart interview now available
Give Me Talk Broadcaster Tony Tellado has just edited together interviews he had with Stewart talking about Star Trek First Contact, Insurrection and X-Men whilst at various press junkets. He also talks about what he would like to see in Star Trek X, being a sex symbol, action figures and acting in a wheelchair....

The interview is now available at Sci-Fi Talk on Give Me Talk.com

    Many thanks Tony!

UK TV schedule update for early March
I, Claudius The third and final part of 'MGM - When the Lion Roars', which Patrick narrates, will be shown on BBC2 on Friday 2nd March @ 13:15 pm.

I, Claudius continues on UK Drama during March as follows:

    • Episode 9 - Thurs. 1st @ 22:05 / Fri. 2nd @ 02:30
Still no sign of the Stewart 'Best of British' documentary in the schedules. A case for Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot and his 'little grey cells' we wonder?

Stewart confirmed for UK stage role
West Yorkshire Playhouse Look out Leeds, there's going to be a deluge of extra visitors this June! The reason? A rare chance to see Patrick Stewart doing what he does best - acting on stage - at the West Yorkshire Playhouse.
The confirmation came in an article at the BBC Leeds Online web site this week, but don't start ringing the box office just yet - tickets aren't on sale until April

The play, by Bradford born J B Priestley, is 'Johnson Over Jordan' - a little known work which WYP artistic director Jude Kelly describes as "...like a Yorkshire version of 'It's a Wonderful Life' ".

Kelly directed Patrick in the hugely successful 1997 production of 'Othello' in Washington D.C. and has been trying for some time to find the opportunity to have him appear at WYP. Well done Jude! Wonder if Trevor Nunn has similar plans for the National?

Thanks to Karen Rourk once again for the lead!

Guthrie Theater web site Rehearsals for the forthcoming 'Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?' in which Patrick stars as the embittered George, have now transferred from New York to Minneapolis where the play open on February 24th at the Guthrie Theater and continues until April 1st. For tickets call 612-377-2224

The director of 'Woolf' David Esbjornson, is also directing Edward Albee's'Play about the Baby' in NYC and wanted to ensure the previews for this new work went well, before moving to 'Woolf' in Minneapolis.

Patrick was amongst the guests at the opening night party for 'Baby' sporting a full beard - in preparation for the role of George.
Theatre.com have a report on the event plus some photos of Stewart with said beard...you have been warned!

Thanks to Aline, Kate and Karen.
