This little bit of historical fiction takes us back to Ireland in the late 1800's, the time of the Oklahoma land rush. Joseph Donnely attempts revenge of wealthy landlord, Daniel Christie, who has taken away his land, but finds the landlord's daughter, Shannon Christie, instead. After some personality clashes, Shannon invites Joseph to come with her to America, where she is determined to get some of the land being offered in Oklahoma. After losing Shannon's money to the greedy, poor people of the streets of Boston, Joseph and Shannon seek work to get money for their journey west.
Nicole plays the typical, snooty rich girl, but Shannon is slightly different from other rich girls: she has no desire to become exactly like her mother's friends, who are, according to Shannon, "boring and unmodern." Her spirit and fiery personality earn the love and admiration of the viewer. Nicole makes the growth in Shannon's character obvious, and she brings out everything that makes Shannon likeable.
