Bob, a businessman, is diagnosed with cancer. He is expected not to live to see his unborn child, so he attempts to make a video for his child to watch: this video includes excerpts of his colleagues voicing their opinions about Bob and Bob reading "Green Eggs and Ham" like he would if he actually had his child sitting on his lap. The video also contained Bob's how-to guide in which Bob used to show his child how to shave, how to play basketball, and other basics on how to be a man.
After all forms of medication has been tried to treat cancer, Bob learns that there is no way for him to be healed. Bob realizes then that he really is in love with his pregnant wife and is determined to live long enough to see his child.
Nicole plays the part of the typical mother in this tear jerker. You see that Nicole is able to play more sensitive characters. Gayle, Nicole's character, is very hopeful, loving and brave. Her love for her husband and her hope for his life is obvious though her tears and pain are not.
