Here is a brief explanation of what it does
There are 3 different versions of the Playstation Japanese, UK
and USA. The problem is the games for the different countrys are
protected by a country code so you can't play one countrys CD on
another countrys machine, this all to do with politics (Another word for
sticking the in )from people like
Sony and the software houses), games prices differ between countrys (ie its a lot cheaper abroad) and
so do release dates.This protection is called
Territorial Lockout!
The second part of the protection is supposed to stop Piracy, this
apparently comprises 4 special sectors at the begining of the CD which
tell the PSX that it has an original CD under its lid. The data on the
CD and the audio tracks can be copied with ease however there is no way
of copying the 4 sectors for the copy protection.
All that is necessary is to install the and let it do the work.
Once the chip is installed the playstation will play
game.
PSXCHIPUK does not in any way condone Piracy always buy original software.
You will no longer have to wait for a title to be released, instead you can
buy the foreign version and play it on your PlayStation 2-3 Months before
everyone else.
The chip only requires to be soldered to the PlayStation circuit board.
The modification will only take 15-20 minutes of your time, some basic soldering experience is required to complete the upgrade.
You
need to check which PlayStation Circuit board you have, as the 4 wires
