A monster wedge tornado was moving towards the "Twister" film crew. Seeing
this, director Jan De Bont told Cary Elwes, who played Dr. Jonas Miller in the
movie, "Get in the truck and drive towards the tornado!"
"But we would be
killed!!" Cary protested.
"Oh, don't worry," replied the director,"it's the
last scene in our picture for you anyway"
The Jan De Bont couldn't contact Vince, the meteorologist he hired. Just then, an old Indian Chief went up to the director and said, "Tomorrow, rain." The next day it rained. A week later, the Indian went up to the director and said, "Tomorrow, storm." The next day there was a hailstorm. "This Indian is incredible," said Jan. He told his secretary to hire the Indian to predict the weather. However, after several successful predictions, the old Indian didn't show up for two weeks. Finally Jan sent for him. "I have to shoot the final scene tomorrow. Soon, we have to pack up and go before our permit expires." said the anxious director, "I'm counting on you. What will the weather be like Chief?" The Indian shrugged his shoulders. "Don't know," he said. "Radio broke."
Do you know when the weatherman will know when he's right for Saturday night's forecast? It'll be on Sunday morning.
What is the best protection against tornadoes? It's a storm chaser. (Chases storm away.)
Here's my best advice to the Singaporean weathergirls: If storms are forecast for the following day, never, NEVER bring on the tide times forecast!!!
Two weathermen each broke an arm and a leg in an accident, and called from the hospital about the four casts.
"Ma! We've got a telephone number similar the National Hurricane Center but there was this bunch of folks who keep calling to ask if the coast was clear or not!"
I sent a card which said "Season's Greetings" to a storm chaser friend in April. It was a *tornado season's* greeting card.
