HINES, Jacob. Born circa 1799 in Sedgeford, Norfolk, Jacob was married to Jane Bone, born in Drogheda, Ireland, circa 1803. Date and Location of marriage not known, they had one child that we are aware of.

HINES, Richard. Born circa 1831 in Sedgeford, Norfolk, Richard was an agricultural labourer and was married to Ester Fox, born in Sedgeford, Norfolk, circa 1832. Date and location of marriage not known, they had nine children that we are aware of.

HINES, Thomas. Born circa 1852 in Sedgeford, Norfolk. Nothing more is known of Thomas at this time.

HINES, Jane. Born circa 1854 in Sedgeford, Norfolk. Nothing more is known of Jane at this time.

HINES, Esther. Born circa 1856 in Sedgeford, Norfolk. Nothing more is known of Esther at this time.

HINES, Martha Elizabeth. Born circa 1858 in Sedgeford, Norfolk. On the 1881 census Martha is shown as the married daughter of Richard and her surname is given as Downes. Also shown on this census is Richard's grandson Washington Downes. Martha was married to James Ellis Downes, born circa 1857 in Hull, Yorkshire, date and location of marriage not known. James and Martha had one child that we are aware of.

HINES, Hannah. Born circa 1860 in Sedgeford, Norfolk. Nothing more is known of Hannah at this time.

HINES, William. Born circa 1862 in Sedgeford, Norfolk. Nothing more is known of William at this time.

HINES, Frederick. Born circa 1864 in Sedgeford, Norfolk. Frederick was a blacksmith but nothing more is known at this time.

HINES, Henry. Born circa 1870 in Sedgeford, Norfolk. Nothing more is known of Henry at this time.

HINES, Herbert. Born circa 1874 in Sedgeford, Norfolk. Nothing more is known of Herbert at this time.

Children of James Ellis Downes and Martha Hines :-

Washington Hines

HINES, Washington. It is believed Washington was born circa 1878 in Hull, Yorkshire. Washington married Alice Williams, at Chorlton Register Office, Chorlton-On-Medlock, Manchester on 27 May 1909. Washington lived at 86 Prince Street, Openshaw, Manchester. We believe they had thirteen children but we are only aware of the names of eight of these children. Washington's occupation on their marriage certificate is "Boatman", he was the boatman at Trafford Park Lake and we believe he had also been a boatman in Hull. Washington died 27 June 1951 and is buried alongside his wife at All Saints Parish Churchyard, Marple, Cheshire.

HINES, Washington. We believe Washington later changed his name to Jack but we have no information on him at this time.

HINES, Joseph Sylvester. Joseph was born 20 February 1913 and died 12 July 1996.

HINES, Irene Rose. Irene was married to Donald Campbell. We have no further information on Irene and Donald at this time.

HINES, Donald. Donald was married to Molly (surname unknown). We have no further information on Donald and Molly at this time.

HINES, Ivy Sylvia. Born 22 June 1919 in Chorlton, Manchester. We have no further information on Ivy Sylvia at this time.

HINES, James Neville. We have no information on James Neville at this time.

HINES, Heather. Married to Charles Thorp Plevin (date and place of marriage not known). James was born circa 1930 and died January 1984, he was buried 19 January 1984 at All Saints Parish Churchyard, Marple, Cheshire, alongside his wife's grandmother Frances Williams (nee Jones).

HINES, Frances May. Married to a Mr. Howarth (first name unknown). Frances May died circa 1999 in Hale Barns, Cheshire.
