OXTON, John. It is believed John was born in the Birkenhead area circa 1761 but unfortunately this cannot be confirmed. John married Lydia Prieston 13 January 1778 at Holy Cross Church, Woodchurch, witnesses:- Joseph Oxton and Joseph Harvey. John and Lydia had 6 children that we are aware of. Lydia was born circa 1761 and died February 1793 aged 32, she was buried 23 February 1793 in Woodchurch. On 20 May 1794 John married Catherine White, a spinster of Birkenhead, Catherine was born circa 1768 and died January 1831 aged 62, she was buried at Woodchurch 23 January 1831. John and Catherine had 5 children that we know of. John died December 1830 aged 70 and was buried at Woodchurch 2 January 1831.
OXTON, John. Born circa July 1781 and baptised 29 July 1781 at Holy Cross Church, Woodchurch. Married to Jane Mutch daughter of John Mutch and Hannah Williams. John and Jane had two children that we are aware of, Jane born circa September 1830, baptised 17 October 1830 at Parish Church of Bidston. John born 27 November 1832, baptised 30 December 1832 at Parish Church of Bidston. We believe Jane died in March 1874.
Prior to this marriage, Jane had been married to John Halewood and had nine children that we are aware of.
OXTON, Thomas. Born 14 September 1783, baptised 26 October 1783 at Holy Cross Church, Woodchurch. We believe Thomas was buried at Holy Cross Church 25 January 1784.
OXTON, Martha. Born 12 December 1784, baptised 16 January 1785 at Holy Cross Church, Woodchurch.
OXTON, Joseph. Born 21 January 1787, baptised 11 March 1787 at Holy Cross Church, Woodchurch.
OXTON, Lydia. Born 16 January 1789, baptised 1 March 1789 at Holy Cross Church, Woodchurch.
OXTON, Alice. Born 12 March 1791 in Oxton, baptised 24 April 1791 at Holy Cross Church, Woodchurch. Alice was married to Joseph Jones, date and location of marriage not known, they had six children that we are aware of. Alice died at her daughter Martha's home, 90 Oxton Road, Birkenhead 7 April 1868.
OXTON, Mary. Born circa 1795, baptised 29 March 1795 at Holy Cross Church, Woodchurch.
OXTON, Stephen. Born circa 1799, baptised 19 January 1800 at Holy Cross Church, Woodchurch.
OXTON, Ann. Born circa 1803, baptised 7 August 1803 at Holy Cross Church, Woodchurch.
OXTON, Elizabeth. Born circa 1807, baptised 6 December 1807 at Holy Cross Church, Woodchurch.
OXTON, William. Born circa 1811, baptised 8 December 1811 at Holy Cross Church, Woodchurch.

OXTON, Jane. Born circa October 1830, baptised 17 October 1830 at the Parish Church of Bidston, the curator at the baptism was J. Gate. We believe Jane was married to William Rimmer and lived in Australia. |

OXTON, John. Born 12 November 1832, baptised 30 December 1832 at the Parish Church of Bidston. In 1853 John left England and moved to Chicago, USA, before moving on to Westfield, Wisconsin. John married Isabell Bennett 12 November 1858 in Westfield. In 1883 they moved to Easton Township, Dakota Territory. Isabell was was born 6 April 1831 in Saint Field, County Down, Northern Ireland and was the daughter of Samuel Bennett and Sarah Patterson who were both born in Scotland, Isabell died in 9 April 1921 in Finley, Steele, North Dakota. From 1886 until 1890 John was a member of the board of County Commissioners of Steel County, he was the first commissioner from the fifth district. In March 1901 John joined the Methodist Church in Sherbrooke, he was also a member of the Masonic Lodge, John died 9 June 1902 in Finley, Steele, North Dakota. John and Isabell had seven children that we are aware of. |
OXTON, Sarah Jane. Born 13 September 1859 in Westfield, Marquette, Wisconsin, USA. Sarah Jane was married to Austin Oscar Cummings, they had eight children that we are aware of.
OXTON, John Bennett. Born 13 November 1860 in Wisconsin, USA. John Bennett was married to Belle Myrtle Drakeley the daughter of Abiram Thomas Drakeley (born June 1844 - died 1914) and Adelaide Francis King (born 1846 - died 1904). Bella was born 18 August 1867 and died 23 May 1957. John and Belle were married 6 March 1889 in North Dakota. John was the president of Steele County Mutual Insurance Company and was a charter member of Mayflower Lodge No.94 of Finlay. John also served as a county commissioner on the school board and as a township officer. John and Belle had 9 children that we know of. John died 22 April 1948.
OXTON, Mary Marie. Born circa 1862 in Wisconsin, USA. Mary Marie was married to Herbert N. Horner.
OXTON, Julia. Born circa 1863 in Wisconsin, USA. We have no further information.
OXTON, William Halewood. Born circa 1864 Wisconsin, USA. William Halewood married Effie Julia Drakeley 1 March 1893 in North Dakota who died 27 December 1894, he then married Jessie Adelaide Drakeley in 1896 in North Dakota, Jessie died 10 August 1935. William died 19 June 1946 also in North Dakota.
OXTON, Samuel. Born December 1865 in Illinois, USA. Samuel was married to Mildred Alison Anderson and Jennie Wilderness, we do not know the dates or circumstances of these marriages.
OXTON, Frank. Born circa 1867 in Illinois, USA. We believe Frank died in 1886.
OXTON, Pearl Mae. Born 23 January 1890 in North Dakota and died 26 February 1979.
OXTON, Adelaide Isabel. Born 4 June 1891 in North Dakota, married Edwin Harris Lowen 17 March 1920 in North Dakota and died 22 May 1951 in Minneaposis, Minnesota.
OXTON, Grace Effie. Born 13 January 1893 in North Dakota, married John Eliza Norris 10 August 1920 and died 21 November 1983.
OXTON, Frank Abiram. Born 5 January 1896 in North Dakota, married Anna Laura Devlin 7 November 1917 and died 2 August 1963.
OXTON, John. Born 18 November 1897 in North Dakota and died 14 December 1974.
OXTON, Ruth Belle. Born 22 November 1899 in North Dakota and died 18 September 1995.
OXTON, Mildred Edna. Born 10 February 1902 in North Dakota, married Elmer Gilbertson 25 June 1925 and died 24 September 2000.
OXTON, Myrtle Agnes. Born 1 December 1903 in North Dakota and died 29 September 2000 in California.
OXTON, Ina Ardath. Born 7 February 1905 in North Dakota and died 15 January 1969 in Arizona.
