Earlier man had long noted the seasonal changes of Earths climate, when they needed to calculate when the best time was to grow crops in order to feed its people. Evidence of this can be found throughout the world such places like Stonehenge, The Pyramids of Egypt, Temple of Tewanaco and elsewhere and developed into the calendar.
By understanding the seasonal and climatic changes on Earth, ancient Chinese Masters had knowledge of the orbiting planets and their direct influence on Earths weather in the natural environment which they called Feng Shui. Feng Shui became a study of the natural surrounding environment. Feng Shui Masters discovered that if the planets had an influence on Earths weather system than it must have an effect on all living things as well. By making astronomical calculations they were able to predict the past, present and future and since humans build houses to live in that generally stay in one position for many years (unlike animals which migrate from place to place) which is un-natural in the natural environment, they were able to calculate the outcome of the occupants who reside on a (property) particular location where they lived or conducted business..
Feng Shui Masters would use the five elements (Earth,Fire,Water,Metal,Wood) for remedies if it were needed in the building. Since humans have forgotten what it was like to live in the natural world (because of our modern lifestyles, even in ancient times is considered modern) is what Feng Shui is all about.
Today, feng shui is a multi-disciplinary study encompassing architecture, urban planning, geography, astrology, electromagnetism, landscape design, environmental psychology, and more.
