- History: The Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, was
founded by German immigrants from
- Alsace Lorraine who wished to
practice their religion and customs using the German
language.
- They settled in and around East
Amherst and helped build the community.
The hamlet of East Amherst was know as Transit Station.
- The cemetery was originally located
on Transit Road south of Muegel Road. Except for the rear window,
- all of the stained glass windows are
original. The German inscription over the door translates
- "Trinity Lutheran Church"
