Veterans of the Civil War buried in Amherst.

The following list, taken from the U.S. Cemetery Survey, includes those veterans of the Civil War
who were buried in the Amherst Area. It does not, however, include all those who may have enlisted
in the area and died on the field of battle, from illness or in prison and were buried on location or in
national cemeteries or other cemeteries by family choice. Records of the latter instances are incomplete.
(NOTE: Harris Hill Cemetery in
Clarence, N.Y. is included because the plots of
many Amherst families were located there at the time).
