George is listed in the 1810 Cumberland Co KY census with a wife whom I assume is
Nancy. George died in Cumberland Co KY in 1846. Their children (all born in Cumberland Co
KY) were Martin, Margaret (who m John Goodman), Catherine (who m John Garman and then
Miles Madison), Phillip A. (who m Elizabeth Ann Franklin; he d 1893 in Metcalf Co KY),
Joseph (who m Sarah Hunt), Charles Robert (who m Susan Frances Griggs; he d in 1894 in
Warran Co KY), Eliza Ann (who m Joel Thompson Hunt; she d in 1889 in Monroe Co KY), Sarah
(my ancestor, b 26 Feb 1825, d 9 July 1907 in Simpson Co KY, m Jonathan Berry Hunt),
George W. (who m Susan Hays; he d in 1892 in Fannin Co TX), Andrew J. (who m Millie E.

"George Shive and wife were both ages 16-26. It has been suggested that Nancy Garman,
the widow age 45 & + in the 1810 Cumberland Co KY census is the mother of my Nancy,

Catherine Shives married miles Madison. FIRST SHE MARRIED HER 1st cousin John Garman.
According to my info. Catherine died of Malaria Fever in Indiana. She is buried in a
county cemetary across from Mt. Carmal, IL. Her grave is unmarked.She died about 1926. The
family was on their way to Illinois. Miles was murdered at a later date dougfrey@compuserve.com
