Single Stick Disarms
Our phase one outline shows five basic disarms versus a single stick traveling along the #1 forehand strike angle. They are the Snake, Vine, Wave, Strip,  and Eject. The disarm follows a deflection and check.
The attack from a #1 is deflected.

The deflection is a strike that is combatively aimed at the holders hand and not the stick. But for training purposes the stick is hit.

And then is checked.

The free hand is used as a secondary measure to prevent the strike from carrying through.

Note: many hits and shots are inserted before and during the disarming sequences to make them effective. It is suggested you play with various shots after learning the basic disarm itself.
The snake.

The snake disarm is done by "snaking" the checking hand around the stick and providing a fulcrum to lever the stick out of the hand. The stick hand can be used to strike the arm and force the fulcrum.
The vine.

The vine works on the similar principle of leveraging the stick free. Instead of inserting your arm, the stick is inserted between the wrist / forearm and the weapon forming an "A". The stick is then levered out.
The wave.

If the grip on the vine is too strong or disarm is ineffective, rotate outside and try to force it free on the other side of wrist!

Modified wave.
From a strip, one can do a modified wave with the forearm / elbow.
