 June 22...Breanna goes to Ohio...

  Breanna leaving Boise

On June 22, Breanna left Boise to visit Grampa Cherryholmes, (ED) in Hilliard, Ohio, just outside of Columbus. Her route included a layover in Salt lake City, then on to Cincinnati, where she met up with Mallory  Cherryholmes, her cousin, who flew out of Portland that same morning, and flew on to Columbus. This was all put together by Ed.
A little history... Four years ago Ed flew Mallory and Charlie ( Mallory's Brother) out to visit for a week during the summer. The following year he had Brad and Breanna out. He then thought it  would be nice for the cousins to get acquainted. The next year he brought out Brad and cousin Charlie, they're the same ages. And this year Breanna and Mallory, they're also the same ages.

The following are photo's Breanna took during her trip.  Note: This is the first time she's had a camera all to herself. I think she did a great job. However little restraint was exercised. Her first roll of film was shot between Boise and Salt Lake City of the beautiful clouds in the sky...

June 22...Brad and Dad go fishing / camping...Bruno Dunes State Park...

                      Brad and Dad

While Mom and Breanna were getting ready for Breanna's trip to Ohio, Brad and I were getting ready for a fishing trip to Bruno Dunes State Park, located about 15 mi, east of Mountain Home. We followed the girls to the airport, saw Breanna off, and headed out. With Breanna gone, this would give Ma a few days of quiet.

Bruno Dunes host the largest single structured sand dune in North America. Peak 470 feet above the lake surface. The lake is well stocked with Blue gill and Bass. Brads challenge all summer has been to hook a Large Mouth Bass. His payoff finally came Sat. Night after fishing Fri. afternoon, and all day Sat.

I didn't know that this was the tallest dune in No. America till we got there and started reading about this place. I was impressed! Well, while Brad's quest was his fish, mine became concurring this tallest pile of sand. So, after I got Brad delivered to the lake, I set off for "The Dune".
It took me about 45 min. to reach the top after following the trail around the lake. I had seen people up on the dune off and on Fri., but late morning Sat., I had it all to myself. Going up is a bit of a struggle, as each 2 ft. step I took was countered by a 1 ft. slide down. It was a beautiful afternoon and the vista was stunning. Going down was the opposite of going up. Each step down netted about 3ft. of sliding down. It was a good trip!
