Clarissa the Clown Finds OutBeing a clown is not always easy. Sometimes the tricks work, sometimes they don’t. Sometimes people laugh, sometimes they don’t.
The other day I thought I’d try something new,
WOW! AND JUST THEN! GOLLY!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I saw something long and skinny, covered with long black hair, with a tail that curled round and round, and a nose that turned up and up, and soft pink ears like a rabbit, and big brown, friendly eyes like a dog, and wide, flat, webbed feet like a duck. At least I think that’s what I saw. What did you see?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I tasted something Like caramel cocoa ice cream, like pepperoni pizza and garlic bread, like steamed spinach, fresh broccoli, and green beans, like corn bread, corn-on-the-cob, and candy corn, like chicken noodle soup, and tuna noodle casserole, peppermint drops, and spearmint gum, like Swiss cheese and American cheese, and Cheez Whiz, and chocolate chip cookies. At least I think that’s what I tasted. What did you taste?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I heard something buzzing and humming, and singing, and strumming, and scratching and tapping, and laughing, and sighing, and whooshing, and splashing, and stomping, and knocking, and burping, and whirring, and fading off into silence. At least I think that’s what I heard. What did you hear?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I touched something Cold and hard like ice, and bumpy and rough like sandpaper, and wet and squishy like mud, and shiny and clear like glass, and heavy and solid like a stone, and sticky and grainy like tree sap, and prickly and sharp like a cactus all over my backyard. At least I think that’s what I touched. What did you touch?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I smelled something Buttery, strawberry, vanilla-chocolatey, like jasmine flowers, like lavender soap, like pine needles, eucalyptus leaves, parsley sprigs, like molasses spice cookies, lemon and orange blossoms, lemons and oranges and grapefruit and apples, and beef and bean burritos for supper. At least I think that’s what I smelled. What did you smell?
