DIRECTOR'S REPORT

Well, it looks as if Rene' and I are leading a ride. We really do ride!!! We have a ride planned for Memorial Weekend. We are going to Pigeon Forge, TN. We will be leaving on Saturday May 29 and returning on Monday May 31. We will be staying at the Family Inn West across from the Grand Motel. The room rate is around $79.77. All you have to do is call and reserve your room. We will be meeting at Shoney's at Exit 14, Hwy 20 on GA 400 at 8:00 a.m. and will be leaving at 9:00 a.m. The route will be a lot of curves-so be prepared.

We also have 50 rooms blocked for our chapter for the Georgia State Rally. The hotel is the Ramada Plaza Hotel. When you call for reservations tell them you are with the Atlanta Chapter. The room rate is $67.00 per night for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night. Hope to see you all there. Register Early!

Ride to Bike Week in Myrtle Beach, S.C., May 13-16

Ginger and I have never been to Myrtle Beach for Bike Week. We have always gone to Daytona in March. I have had some members inquire about a chapter ride for this event. So we have now planned one.

We will meet May 13th at the Winn Dixie parking lot on Salem Road, exit 43 off I-20 in Conyers at 8:30 a.m. and leave at 9:00 a.m., sharp. Our return ride on May 16th will end at the same location. I will be leading the ride.

Directions from Atlanta to meeting location, go I-20 East to Exit 43, turn right on Salem Road, go 1/4 mile to Winn Dixie on the left, along with Hardees and Dunkin Doughnuts across from AT&TT building.

We were unable to get a block of rooms at any one motel but Allison Mull will be assisting us in locating accommodations as close together as possible. So please give her a call early at 770-486-8232.

Tech Tips!

Engine Oil

Engine Oil level should be checked only when the engine is at normal operating temperature. Perform pre-ride check, oil should register on dipstick of cold engine. Do not add oil to full mark on a cold engine. After engine is at normal operating temperature remove dipstick and check level. Add oil to top off at proper level.

Transmission

The transmission oil level should be checked monthly. When checking the transmission the motorcycle should be standing straight up, not on the jiffy stand. Check at normal operating temperature. Remove transmission dipstick plug and check its level. Lubricant should be between the two marks on the stick. Add lubricant as necessary do not overfill.

If you have any questions relating to this contact the service department at Harley-Davidson of Atlanta.
