Kasumi Karen

Karen is the fire master for the Dragons of Heaven. She loves the present day Tokyo and how the city surrenders to no one. She works for a "Soapland" named "Flower". This is where a man can go to get a bath and be cared for by attendants who are usually naked or in lingerie. This is why when we first see Karen (and in the X movie) she is clothed in black lingerie. She was commanded by Tokiko (Kamui's aunt) to burn down her house, shortly before she was taken away by curse zombies. Tokiko then told her to tell Kamui to protect the sacred sword.

We first meet Karen when she is watching Kamui, Sorata, and Arashi watch Tokiko's house burn down. She doesn't reveal herself to the Dragons of Heaven until after Kotori is murdered. It seems that Seiichirou has been to Flower before. (Supposedly to gather information for his editor).

Karen is represented on the Tarot card Justice. Justice symbolizes the payment of karmic debts. Each of has done something in life that we later regret, and then feel we have to justify. It's astrological association is Libra, the cardinal sign of the element Air. Libra represents harmony and principle balance.
