Burke was an executive of the weyland yutani corporation. He sent the colonist out to inspect the DERELICT craft , out past the Illiyum range. When contact was lost with the colony, and a RESCUE mission was mounted , Burke went along as a representative of weyland..
    Burke's plan was to take specimens of the alien creatures for return to the company labs on EARTH as part of the Bio Weapons division.
To get past ICC quarantine, Burke attempted to have Ripley and Newt impregnated and frozen for the trip home to earth. However the only way he could do it was to sabotage the marines cryo- freezers.. then he could "Jettison the Bodies and make up and story he liked.."
However his plans where short lived.. Ripley and Newt where rescued by the marines in the nick of time , and when they found out about Burkes secret plan it was decided to "Greece the little rat f*#k son a bitch".
 However at that moment ,the power went down. .and the marines where faced with bigger problems .. Burke ran and locked the door to operations.. However he was soon taken care of by an alien.. He was taken to the atmosphere processor where he was cocooned and impregnated..
