Tsukino Usagi's name means "Rabbit of the Moon." She's strong, emotionally if not physically, caring, compassionate, immature, mature, and trying. Her birthday is June 30th, and she her sign is Cancer. One day while walking home from school Usagi ran into a peculiar black cat getting beat up on by some boys. She helped the cat and thought nothing of it. Until that night, when the same black cat, which had a patch on its forehead, confronted her. The patch concealed that this cat actually had a cresent-moon on its forehead. It spoke in a childish voice and it told Usagi that its name was Luna. Luna told Usagi she was Sailormoon, and gave her a transformation brooch to transform. Sailormoon was a defender and enforcer of justice against evilness. Throughout the first season of Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon they were looking for the princess of the white moon, Princess Serenity. And Luna would help her on her adventure, becoming a very unique friend to Usagi. From then on Usagi's life would never become the same. She was always overwhelmed by the enemy, but she tried her hardest. She had a natural inclination for being lazy but somewhere inside of her she knew her sense of duty. All she wanted was to become a normal teenager though. Even though Usagi had bad habits--she would wake up late for school, she got bad marks, she was lazy and she slept often, and she was somewhat bratty--she was still strong-willed inside. Soon she found out that the power of friendship was important, and even though she was clumsy her will to do good compensated. Usagi lived with her father Kenji, her mother Ikuko, and her brother Shingo. Kenji was a photographer, Ikuko was a regular (but super...) housewife, and Shingo was simply an annoying little boy. Later she met Chibiusa and Chibichibi, and they would come live with her too; the details will be explained chronologically. She lived in Juuban, a rich part of Tokyo, and she attended Juuban middle school. While there, her best friend was Naru; and later, Umino. Finally, Usagi yelled out "Moon Prism Power!" for the very first time, and she transformed into Sailormoon. She was very undetermined at first, and that's where Tuxedo Kamen came in, to help her. He threw his dashing red roses at the youma to save Sailormoon, while in turn she used her power to defeat the youma. She took off her tiara and said the phrase, "Moon Tiara Action!" Throughout the first season of Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon Usagi encountered new friends: Ami, then me (Rei), then Makoto, and finally Minako and her cat guardian Artemis. We transformed into Sailor Senshi also; as Sailormercury, the very sexy, very refined Sailormars (hmm, wonder who she could be), Sailorjupiter, and Sailorvenus, respectively--the five of us became the Sailor Team! She also encountered an unforgetable young man who was always teasing her, Mamoru, who teased her with names like "Odango-atama" which means "Dumpling Head." Whew! It's getting a little hot in here, isn't it? Usagi met Mamoru when she threw away one of her tests with a score of "30" at his head. They instantly detested each other, and from then on Mamoru always teased Usagi about her clumsiness and her proclivity to do bad in school. Usagi, besides having a crush on Motoki (whose family owned the Crown Game Center and Crown Fruit Parlor, where we often hung out), also liked Tuxedo Kamen. In one adventure both Mamoru and Usagi were in peril by a scheme to get the ginzuishou, and they both transformed in front of each other (because in their senshi forms they were more powerful and could escape danger.) They learned their destiny of being together. Mamoru gave Usagi the nickname of "Usako" and Usagi gave him the nickname of "Mamo-chan." Even though I went with Mamoru a few times, I never really did like him. I mean, he was just so persistant! And now, I am NOT saying this in spite of the fact that we used to date, and I was kinda "dumped"... NO THAT'S NOT TRUE whatever... what? NO I am not in denial! Grr... moving right along... Usagi carried on her duties as defender of love and justice and endured pain as the first season of Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon went by. Tuxedo Kamen was captured and brainwashed; Queen Metallia was to be awakened, and eventually she took over Queen Beryl's body. To add to Sailormoon's problems, she watched her friends die for the very first time. (Sounds weird, I know. I died too though.) In a final confrontation on an icy plateau, she gathered up her very strengths to defeat Queen Beryl and Queen Metallia and once again she was a normal teenager. (With the help of each of us five senshi and the ultimate power of friendship--we pooled in our power to create a giant blast.) And we channeled our energy through the ginzuishou--if Sailormoon were ever to use it, she would die. I'm sure you recognize this picture from that battle right? She was a normal teenager again... that is, until the next week, when the second season Sailormoon R began. Regaining her memories as a senshi from Luna, Usagi was again Sailormoon. Although she lost her will to fight, as she very badly wanted to become a normal teenager again. Her Moon Tiara attacks weren't working properly. And her henshin brooch broke. So Serenity gave Sailormoon a new brooch with the ginzuishou's power and the Cutie Moon Rod. She would have to say "Moon Crystal Power Make-Up" to transform and her new attack was "Moon Princess Halation." The new power was more effective, and soon they overcame the evils of Ail and Ann, the aliens who reconciled their love as a couple, and with that energy the makaiju could survive; human energy was negative energy. And, Mamoru regained his memory (it was lost when they defeated Metallia) and he once again became Tuxedo Kamen, destroying the illusion of the Tsukikage no Knight, who was the protector of the earth while Tuxedo Kamen was gone. But soon a mysterious pink-headed Usagi-wannabe came crashing from the sky with her ball which looked like Luna, and presented many more problems to Usagi. This girl, called Chibiusa, seemed to win Mamoru's heart. Chibiusa was devious indeed, but her intentions were good. She missed her parents and she needed to find the ginzuishou to save them from peril, even if it meant harming Usagi and her friends. I really didn't think we needed another Usagi, but there she was. Chibiusa was spoiled and mean to Usagi but Usagi still seemed to like her, because Usagi wanted everyone to become friends. Yet another enemy appeared: The Akayashi sisters. Even though Sailormoon healed them using the power of the ginzuishou, trouble was far from over. Usagi was soon guided by the appearance of another Sailor Senshi, Sailorpluto. She helped us travel to the future. There we battled and defeated the next of the Dark Moon kin: Esmeraude, then Saffiru, then Dimondo, and finally the Wiseman himself. But what was this? The Wiseman had captured Chibiusa and he manipulated her, turning her into Black Lady! The Wiseman also told us that Chibiusa was really Mamoru and Usagi's daughter... or King Endymion and Neo-Queen Serenity's daughter... whichever way you look at it. Because it only became clear that Usagi was not only Princess Serenity of the past, but Neo-Queen Serenity of the future. Black Lady was soon defeated when she realized she was manipulated. She turned back into Chibiusa, and she even found the ginzuishou she had misplaced. With two ginzuishous and in a final showdown (and in princess forms) Usagi and Chibiusa defeated the Wiseman, along with our combined powers, much like the battle with Metallia. Usagi was sad when Chibiusa had to leave, and Chibiusa used her time key to go back to the 30th century. Usagi would no longer have the compaionship of Chibiusa... and that concluded the second season.
