Journey the Continent of Africa with Charlotte Middle School’s 7th grade Geography class. All our facts will come from this WebQuest designed by our teacher, Cheri Ramseur. Our journey will end when groups present their research findings using PowerPoint which may include MUSIC clips.
We will explore the five regions of Africa; North, East, West, Central, and South. Since there are 6 groups and only five regions of Africa, one group will create a Travel Guide. Each region will be divided into these subsections for a more in depth study: Culture, Economics & Government, Medical,
Wildlife, Internet, and Natural Resources. These
subsections were chosen for research because much
can be learned about a country when these areas
are addressed. Symbols is divided into 6 subsections
which include; Climate, Physical Features, Flags, Money
(Currency), Population (Tribes), and Language. Students
will explore symbolic meanings for 5 countries
(one from each region) of their choice.
When studying the region’s natural resources you will see how it affects their economic stability. The government plays a large role in using the natural resources responsibly thereby ensuring economic growth and stability for its people. When these areas are addressed and managed efficiently adequate healthcare is more widely available to the people of that region.
Plants and Wildlife is vital to the ecosystems of Africa. Due to
various reasons some wildlife have become endanger of becoming
extinct. Also, humans have had to adapt to living with wildlife.
Students will examine how this relationship has affected human
activity in Africa.
