This section details the process we will be using to pursue information via the WebQuest! If any item here is unclear, then please make a note and bring it to my attention in class!

Process

Each group will decide which region of Africa to research. Once that’s done, students in each group will choose their “Area of Focus” to research. This assignment begins on January 5th and ends the week of January 28th.

Team Objective

Gather information on your region from these areas of focus; Culture, Economics, Medical, Wildlife, Natural Resources, Monuments, and Travel. Gathering information on Symbols that represent your region are optional; however, they may provide some important information on your area of interest. Remember your work must be written in your own words. Do not PLAGIARIZE! Write your answers in the form of paragraphs. The paragraphs should flow into a nice conclusion of your findings, creating one concise research paper on your region. Once the research paper is complete, one person will make an outline for the Group's PowerPoint presentation.

Personal Objective

Prepare a minimum of 3 to 4 pages of research on your “Area of Focus”. For your PowerPoint presentation, you will need to find graphics and music clips.

Let’s get started!

1.     Conduct research using the internet only. Make sure your information is factual and interesting.

2.     If you don’t have internet access at home, remember you can stay after school on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday until 4:30 pm to work on your research material.

3.     Discuss your material with group members in an effort to narrow down what information to keep or discard.
