Karen and Kandice "Kandy" Klingle are sisters who grew up with Sea Doo's in Washington State. Their dad was a Ski-Doo
snowmobile dealer, and an avid Sea Doo rider.
Karen and Kandice remember when the Bombardier factory recalled all of them because of the problem with them exploding
during starting. Their dad received a phone call from a Ski-Doo dealer he knew in Oregon. The dealer told him
the factory had just told him to cut up and destroy his remaining stock of Sea Doos, and to send in the Hull Identification
Number plates in order to receive financial reimbursement for the destroyed boats.
The dealer didn't want to destroy them and was trying to find homes for them. Karen and Kandy's dad took quite
a few of them and gave them out to family and close friends. They remember riding them in the nearby rivers.
Karen remembers when one exploded on her dad. He wasn't seriously injured, but he did have burns on his chest and
arms!
