About our heroine
Cat Claw is the story about a student named Carol Connor. She is a quiet, shy girl who study biology, live together with Jeanny Jones, and is the favourite of her teachers, the caretaker at the university, just about everybody. Quite boring, actually.
But one night at the university she first gets attacked by a cat which is used in some experiments. Later the same evening, she tries to shut down some instruments used in an experiment by doctor Baker. She does something wrong, gets exposed to some kind of radiation called Sigma Rays and after that she discover that she has supernatural powers. She can see almost as good during nighttime as in the day, she is very strong (at least according to her bodysize), she's got nine lives, and she is supple as a cat.
Carol Connors uses her powers just for fun at the beginning, but one night Jeanny gets attacked outside the building where they live. Carol take care of the bad guys, and actually finds it to be quite fun.
From that moment she decides to use her new powers in the battle against evil, and makes herself a costume to "draw the attention from the real Carol Connors" (Just like Superman's alter ego Clark Kent's glasses, and about the same size), and Cat Claw is ready to exterminate crime in the city!
The picture to the left is the very first time Cat Claw appears in her uniform. Click on the image for a larger version, or click here for the b/w original.
The mask, gloves and boots are made from a special fabric/metal which she stole from Grays Institute. There were not enough fabric to make a complete suit... The bikini is a birthday present from Jeanie, which Carol Connor never dared to use. The first pair of fishnet pantyhose is stolen from Jeannie, but the pantyhose gets thorn up in about every fight, so she has to replace it quite often. Later in the series, she gets another outfit (the one seen on the first page), but most of the time she is more or less without clothes ...
«I tried to imagine what the wet dream of every male pig would look like, and Cat Claw was the answer» Bane Kerac says in an interview from 1991. As a proud member of the male pig community, I must give him credit for his insight ...
