RE:   Warren T. Whitmire "Buzz", Gervais and Martin are still MIA
Whitmire:  His North Carolina Student ID card was found in the NVA War Archives in the early 90's.
This was the first sight of Buzz since 1-May-68.
He and crewmen Gervais and Martin -- MIA in the ASHAU 1-MAY-68, shot down in an OH-6
1/4 click S.W. of LZ Tiger.  I'm working closely with the JTFA guys.  They have been to the
crash site several times, and we are trying to develop any information possible.

...scrambled to try to extract that crew...on top of them less than 15 minutes after they went down....came in not much more than treetop level, the LOH was on it's side...looked like it was hung up in the trees....hard to get a good look because a thousand tracers...coming at us...only made one pass, then were ordered to return to base because of the heavy fire.  The gunships took over from there.
