Objectives :

To assess slagging and fouling characterictics of coal in boilers/furnaces
To assess the combustion products such as gaseous and particulate emissions
To assess the performance of the Electro-Static Precipitator(ESP)in relation with the particulate clean-up system
To assess the performance of the swirl burner as a function of swirl number, particle size, etc.

Application :

To develop practical operating condition data for boiler designers and operator, such as maximum safe firing, soot blowing frequency and use of alternative fuels.
