PEACE ON EARTH
“T’was
the night before Christmas and all through the house
Not a creature
was stirring, not even the mouse….”
HAH, and again
HAH!!
I dash around
my kitchenette
Followed by my
dog,
Putting final
touches on
A chocolate Yuletide
log.
My cat mews for
the turkey
Defrosting on
the side,
While mince pies
cooling on their trays
Send rich smells
far and wide.
The vegies now
must all be peeled
And put to soak
this night.
A slurp of sherry
might be nice,
I’ll get
to bed quite tight!
Some presents
too must still be wrapped,
Last minute bargains
bought
For half the going
Christmas price,
Still bloody dear,
I thought!
So much for peace,
and silent night
It’s noisy
– that’s the truth.
I don’t
care what your name is –
GET THOSE REINDEER
OFF MY ROOF!!!
