Order in the class!

A Silly Poem:

The day before, my little pie
Had been a lovely stew.
The savoury mince that gave it birth
Was very tasty too.

The starting point, four days before,
A great Spag Bol had been,
But sweets don't get recycled
'Cos I lick the platter clean!

How I learned to write...

SO WHO ARE WE?

I am a Founder Member of the Creative Corners
Writers Group, based in Spearwood, WA. We have
plenty of fun and welcome new members, whether
poets, essayists or short story writers.

Our group meets every Wednesday afternoon at
1pm until 3pm in the Spearwood Public Library,
next door to the Council Chambers. The cost
is only $3, and includes tea and biscuits,
plus any cakes, scones or other goodies that
members bring along!

Anybody interested in joining us can call me on
93311380 or email me at: boobook@tadaust.org.au
Or simply just turn up on the day, we don't mind.

Not all these people are current members,
but they've all played a large part in our
group over the years. And yes, they have
all read their own verses!

Our secretary bird, Cathy Hol,
(Not your obvious choice for a moll)
Loves to lie on her back
Making whoopee with Jack,
So he thinks she's a real living doll!

Christina, she's written a book,
And she lets all her friends have a look,
We all thought it was funny
And said to her, 'Honey,
'To publish it, who did you have to sleep with?'

Christine is our soberest star.
You never see her have a jar.
Though she claims she won't stray,
At the end of each day
She goes home in a different car!

And now we have Dawn and Irene,
Separated they rarely are seen.
When Dawn fancied a bloke,
Irene started to joke,
'Put him down, you don't know where he's been!'

There was a young lady called Hilda
Whose fantasy was Bob The Builda.
She hammered and screwed
To keep up with this dude,
And the exercise bloody near kilda!

Jean Clifford's a well travelled lass,
Who'll never get put out to grass.
But her weird view on history's
A bit of a mystery,
She's a regular pain in the ass!

A good friend of ours called June
Thought living alone was a boon.
But while acting the fool
She fell into her pool,
And it's only cleaned once a blue moon.

There's a lass in our group called Louise,
Unlike all the rest, she's Chinese.
Though the lingo's a barrier,
We don't like to harry her,
'Cos her writing's a bit of a breeze!

An old friend of ours called Nancy
Knows betting on horses is chancy.
She came home in a barrel,
Having lost her apparel
When she bet all her cash on Jim's Fancy!

It's Rita's turn. Rita, come forth,
A fine looking lass from the North.
We all have quite a game
Trying to utter her name.
She pronounces it something like Horth!

Now Tony's a tightwad, it's true,
Won't spend cash, unlike me and you.
He doesn't spend much
On housekeeping and such,
But he'll spring for a Guinness or two!

When Val writes her bush poetry,
She invokes so much envy in me,
I could scream 'til I'm blue
'Cos it all sounds so true,
And she makes it all seem too easy!

MY PERSONAL "CV"

Me at book launch promotion

I was included in the first anthology from our group, simply called "Creative Corners Anthology". I collected my Star Trek stories and poems into a volume which I called "Trekking Time", purely for my own pleasure, and that of a few close friends and fellow members.

1999: I published my book "Sex In Later Life", a collection of all my own short stories and poems. was included in the book Galloping On,in issues X and XII.

I was included in the second, larger, anthology from our group, entitled "Pieces of Eight". The group has recently published its third anthology, "Music Of The Mind", to which I have contributed a dozen of my stories and poems.

Currently, I'm hopefully producing enough work for another private collection of my poems and stories, as yet untitled. I have now had my autobiography "Growing up
in Bradford" published.
