The Focus is an European car. It debuted in Europe in '99. It was so well received that Ford decided to bring it to this side of the ocean, to once again try for a world car - this might be the one! Fast-forward to 2003 the SVT transformed the peppy car into a true sport's car capable of 15.8 sec 1/4 mile times, due to the 170hp svt-Zetec.

In 2005 the SVT was replaced by the Focus ST with a 2.3 Duratec engine that while was rated at 150 hp had more torque that the STV's and still produced similar acceleration.
