Note: Information about Cardassian military craft is strictly CLASSIFIED. Stats used here are common knowledge among the Federation and their Allies. I will neither comfirm nor deny the accuracy of this data.
A famous Gul once said that an army marches on it's stomach. Meaning that food and supplies are the most important part of any campaign and this is where the freighter comes into its own. On Cardassia, freighters are military ships. They may not be as glamorous as a Galor but sucsess can't be assured without them. Unfortunately they don't get the respect they so rightly deserve and are sometimes commanded by disgraced officers such as Gul Dukat formerly of the Groumal. The Gul is also entitled to a percentage of the cargo as payment.
Carrying a crew of up to 30, the typical freighter is 255.65 meters long, 55.13 meters wide and 63.21 meters high. It can travel at Warp 6.5 as a result of its one warp system.
A freighter is rather poorly armed and is often not considered a threat when alone.
