Nor Class Station

Many people wonder why Starfleet would design Deep Space Nine where only one Galaxy class statship can dock at the docking pylons. Well I have news for you, Starfleet didn't design it, we did! And it's perfectly suited to handle our large warships.

Deep Space Nine, or Terok Nor, is typical of a Cardassian Nor class space station designed to process ore and ship it back to Prime. It can easily handle a large amount of traffic with three upper and three lower docking pylons for larger ships, twelve docking ports in the outer docking ring for cargo carriers and six small pads that lower into hangars in the habitat ring for shuttles and small ships. Once again, threes figure prominently in the design.

The overall diameter of the station is 1.5 kilometers and the height from the top of a upper pylon to the tip of the lower pylon is 969.26 meters. The height of the central core is 368.8 meters.

The station has three shield generators mounted on the central core just below the command module, and three weapon sails mounted on the habitat ring. The exact nature of the weapons is classified.

The power plant consisting of six fusion reactors is in the very lowest section on the central core. Although up and down have very little relevance in space, it is generally considered that the command module is 'up' and the power plant is 'down'.
