  Quake 3 Death Match - Powerstation 0218 - Q3TOURNY1 (Hardcore Difficulty)

Your opponent: Sarge
Skill Level: Time to play hardball

Supply Room   Rune Room   Rocket Launcher Room

A nice level that is simple with and has one bottleneck which is located at the rocket launcher. The first thing you want to do is deny Sarge the Yellow Armor. If you can keep denying him the armor you will be in good shape. Your next stop will either be further into the room to pick up the shotgun, or over to the rocket launcher if Sarge is in the Supply Room. Either way, stay on your toes and as far from Sarge as possible. Frags come easiest when your playing ring around the rosy with the Supply Room and Rune Room. If you can get the rune, it might help you live one hit longer...

The main goal however is to make sure Sarge is denied the armor. Keeping him soft is the way to rocket gib em. You will want the rocket launcher if you are to get multiple frags. And this is where it gets tricky. If you can get in and out without being cornered in the Rocket Launcher Room then your in good shape and you should be able to score 2-3 frags circling the other two rooms. Don't count on camping in the Rocket Launcher Room, Sarge is quick and will jump your rockets while pumping a hole in your head with his new shotgun. If you are trapped, fire warning shots jumping around the bend and back into the Rocket Launcher Room. If this kills him good, resupply and repeat. However once he charges the room, you want to be the first one running the heck out of there. I have died countless times trying to out strafe him using the pillar as a defense... nada, ain't going to be very effective.

This is basically it. A simple game of denial and shooting as you flee.

I would like to point out another fact. In the Supply Room there are two health orbs, the one on the left is worth 50 and the one on the right, only 25. This adds up to 75 (or full health). You want to make sure to grab the weaker orb first if you have less then 75 health, that way you can get both orbs and Sarge will be left with nothing. If you have more then 75 health grab the stronger orb. You may think this is not so important, but believe me, a half dead Sarge can be a fully restored mercenary if you screw up. And of course, he will remind you of this after your gibs settle down...

Sarge has to be my favorite bot to fight, simply because he isn't cocky and actually gives you the impression he is training you. Kinda nice seeing as all the other bots have some frigging god complex.
