Patty Bridge
click here for bigger pictureUntil about May or so, trout are stocked as far down as Patty Bridge. There is a boat ramp and parking area that provide public access, otherwise this area is private property. When the water is shut off, much of the area is wadeable. Many of the locals feel like hatches have been better downriver in recent years. They will probably lynch me for publishing this information. Directions to Patty Bridge: --------------------------------------------------- From US 411 at Hiwassee River Bridge go north, turn left on TN 163, go a little over 3 miles, turn left on McMinn County Road 968 (across from old Trew General Merchandise store), go about 3-1/2 miles, turn left where there is an old white farmhouse on the right with 2 barns behind it (if you cross railroad tracks, before you turn, you have gone too far). The river is less than 1/2 mile. Cross the tracks and bridge and the boat ramp is on the right. There are other ways to get there, but this is the only one I can explain! Top Of Page |
