Hurricane Warning in the Eastern Conference!

Canes Poll

The Hurricanes had a tremendous playoff run making it to the finals but will they do it again ? Ron Francis had an exceptional year and his leadership payed off in the playoffs. Erik Cole played like a veteran forward by excelling with the playoff pressure. Niclas Wallin potted two OT winners one against Montreal and one against Toronto.

With all that being said that doesn't mean a thing when it comes to this season. Rod Brind'amour hasn't played as well as his Flyer days since joining the Canes in a deal that sent Primeau to Philly. The development of Erik Cole has been a blessing for Carolina, especcially his playoff play. Sami Kapanen has to bounce back from his no-show playoff appearance.

Niclas Wallin should surprise alot of hockey fans with his offensive ability if he gets the ice time he needs. Bret Hedican and Sean Hill take care of most of the offensive defenseman business. David Tanabe should step up and play alot this year, he is capable of excellent stivkhandling ability.
