All 3 models have quite similar specifications. The 6500CS Sport Rocket is also available without level wind (CT). Both the Elite and Mag Elite comes with a stronger but slightly heavier reinforced CT cage while the CT version of the Sport Rocket retains the standard cage design. Centrifugal braking built into all models to prevent backlashes. The Mag Elite comes with a additional magnetic control making it really suitable for beginners as well as tournament casters as it allows instant spool speed adjustment . All spools used are one piece aluminium, except the Mag Elite which uses one piece Duralumin for its spool. The 6500s are good for fishing because of its built-in ratchet. Beginners to surfcasting do insist on these.

Good for fishing from our local East Coast and Changi beaches using standard methods. More water can be covered because it is easier to cast far therefore increasing your chance of hooking more fish. But do use gently, as its not designed heavy duty enough for winching in too oversized species. Overall, there is not much fish around locally which the 6500s could not match.

The red coloured 7000 has been around for years and had passed the test of time. It is still widely use today by UK boat and rock anglers. Nowadays its quite difficult to find one in Singapore. The 7000C is considered a much better alternative to the 7000 model. It comes with 3 sealed bearings, the rest of the mechanism is totally the same as the red 7000. Also take note of the 7000C Syncro which has a useful drag release function which instantly reduces the drag amount by 1/3 at the turn of the handle. The latest range to the Abu7000s is the 7500C3CT. This reel comes without any level-wind in a reinforced CT cage. It is considered very much stronger and is much more easier to grip on. Also the foot of the reel is flattened to facilitate reel coasters.

The 7000 size range is suitable for fishing in areas with lots of snags. Heavier line is needed to guide fish and terminal tackle away from snags and rocky bottom. The 6500s are not designed to work as efficient as the bigger 7000s in this situation. Due to this, the 7000 is good for fishing from our Tanah Merah Ferry terminal spot, Tuas or the Tanjong Rhu end because these place are quite snaggy sometimes. The Bedok Jetty is also a place where the 7000 could perform its job relatively well.
