The institute is a government run institute and the finance is provided by the federal government. The fee structure is devised so as to provide the students with the best faculty and state of the art instruments most economically. A students welfare fund has been allocated which provide for the extracurricular activities and necessities of the students.
The Fee Structure The expenses that are compulsory for each student can be summarized as follows,
Moreover, on announcement of the examination schedule, the students have to deposit the examination fee and fine (in any) as announced by the NED University Of Engineering And Technology along with examination form. All the fees except tuition fees, student activity fund and sports fund are payable once only when the student joins the institute for the first time in First Semester. The security deposit is against breakage and any other damage to the institute property, instruments and tools caused by the student and is payable at the beginning of each semester. This balance or such balance as may be available out of it shall be refunded to the student when he/she ceases to be student of the institute. None of the fees is refundable under any circumstances except the security deposit as explained above. All fees are payable in cash to the cashier of the institute (within on week of the start of semester) for which official receipt will be issued immediately on receiving the payment, or through bank draft in the name of IIEE Karachi. The institute does not provide any hostel facility. The students have to arrange accommodation and transport of their own. FEE EXEMPTION AND QARZ-E-HASANA The IIEE has a defined fee exemption facility for meritorious and deserving students. The students are granted full fee exemption and half fee exemption in each class results of previous semester which is as follows:
If a position holder student withdraws from the exemption allowed, the same shifts to the next consecutive position holder. There is not any fee exemption in first semester. Moreover, the students of this institute are eligible to apply for Qarz-e-Hasana scheme of Pakistan Banking Council. The institute staff helps in processing these applications. Many students cover their educational expenses through this scheme. FINES Students are levied fines for the loss or damage caused due to the negligence or mishandling to any instrument or equipment or any other property of the institute. In case of loss or damage to the books borrowed from the library of the institute, a fine of ten times the market price is charged from the student. For late return of books a fine or Rs. 5/- per day per book is charged.
