Dunlop Cry Baby Wah
Ever had a pedal that you didn't really like but you held onto it for some crazy reason? Well, this pedal is my almost never used but held onto for sentimental reasons pedal. I bought it the same time I bought my '63 Strat so it kind of marks the beginning of me playing the electric guitar.
As you can tell, it's just a basic wah pedal. Pump it up and down and it modulates the tone creating the classic 'wah-wah' effect. This one is a Model GCB-95, the one that's been around for years. No frills, not nearly as much range as newer wah pedals, just a classic sound in a metal box your could drive nails with.
I mainly use it when I try to play some Hendrix or other 60's/70's type stuff, which isn't that often. Another interesting trick I've done with it is to leave it in a particular position to get either a treble or bass 'boost'.
The main fault of this pedal is that it sucks tone and volume worse than any pedal I've ever heard. I mean it will suck so much life out of your signal you'll want to unplug it instead of just switching it off. Since there is no power indicator light, it's also quite easy to leave it on where it will suck a battery dry in a short amount of time. However, its battery consumption isn't too bad if you remember to unplug it when you're done playing.
The photos below show the bottom of the pedal and the nameplate.
