History See the Genesis of organized Crime in Chicago
The history of the Chicago Laborer District Council and the influence and control of
organized crime in its operations was thoroughly documented in the hearings for trusteeship
that occurred in 1997 . See Vaira's Feb. 8, 1998 order and
memorandum. The complaint, transcripts
and exhibits entered into evidence
at that hearing will be made available via this site. The testimony of witnesses defending
the indefensible and professing ignorance of organized crime's influence in the council
will be highlighted so members can see how dumb and stupid delegates to the
district council were and remain so today. Mike Lazzaretto served
with Vincent Solano as a trustee to the pension fund for many years yet never raised the
issue it might be improper if not imprudent to have the organized crime boss of Chicago's
north side serve in a fiduciary capacity.
