Our Inside Family
In the year since this page was first posted, many changes have taken place within this system. Therefore, we figured it was time for a revision of this page as well. So, meet the gang, sometimes known as "Les Abeilles" ("the bees"):
A lot of change has occured with the person once (and still) known as wabbit. She is the scared child that comes front and center when some trauma happens that reminds us of a helpless time. Before we realized our multiplicity, she never spoke, she would only whimper "like a scared rabbit," because she was the one who was always told to "shut up." wabbit has grown much in the past year, so much so that she decided to choose a new name and even have a birthday (8/13). The name she chose, Esperanza, is the Spanish word for "hope," and said of her choice, "I be trying to grow up and I keep
hoping that things will get better."
She is the principal Guardian of our system, and as such is much more complex than her name suggests. When Spyder wrote of her on a message board once, she said, "Don't let the name fool you -- sometimes she is a little sabre-toothed hare!" We have come to realize that she is the core personality, and as such the other people will be integrating into her, if at all. In fact most of the littles have already done so, to some extent. But their individual pages remain here.
Chiquita is the bright eyed, bushy tailed, full of wonder child. Maybe 2. She's also nicknamed "BabyGirl" by other insiders. "Ooh!" is her favorite thing to say. Her favorite stuffies are Purple Bear (a purple Crayola Bear) and her talking Laa-Laa. Did we mention she loves the Teletubbies? That’s what her page is about, and has a link to the BBC and PBS sites.
Kikkity is seven, and is the animal-loving, very playful person. Once considered to be the SpokesLittle, but that changed as wabbit grew. She was also very affected by the death of our cat Silvia last year (8/98), which is probably why she retreated deep inside. Very like her favorite animal: a little wild, untameable, gets bored easily, but very
defensive of the people she loves. Loves Garfield, Tigger and Sylvester. Wants to be a
vegetarian like Spyder, but loves to eat tuna too much. Loves ice cream and yogurt. Her
favorite colors are black, silver, and turquoise. If she could be a real cat, she'd be a silver
tabby point Siamese.
Dee is nine, and may or may not be the child who was there before the worst of the trauma began. We're not sure anymore. She likes Lisa Frank and Mulan, and loves to play with her Barbies and her stuffie Clovis
the Crawfish. Loves to drink chocolate milk and eat mac and cheese, banana Laffy Taffy, and Trolli sour gummy squirms. Her favorite colors are hot pink and purple.
Marc has wavered between eight and thirteen, but now is more settled around the latter, hence his inclusion among the teens. In the past, he tended to be the mean, vindictive one, but he is now one of the protectors of the system. But he still can be King of the sarcastics, and is still prey to the "open mouth, insert foot" syndrome. He likes hot dogs and cheeseburgers, Hot Tamales candies, playing basketball, making model cars (especially VW Beetles), and getting the bigs to drive fast. His favorite color is teal.
More formally known as Penelope Webster, Spyder is 13, and she is the shaman and artist of the system. She always loved the myth about Arachne and that's why she chose her name. She adores jewelry making and cross stitch and origami and knitting and sewing. And drawing. She would much rather be crafting than reading, unless it's a book about The Goddess. Spyder is the one who has embraced the Virgin Mary as Goddess. Is the true vegetarian of the group.
DeeDeeQ is about 17 and is the hacker of the system. Champion Web surfer and
HTML coder extraordinaire, and thus is the creator of most of this website. Is the older
version of Dee and has become surrogate mother to wabbit. She likes rainbow colors and so likes Lisa Frank, too, but only the "less
juvenile" designs like Buzz. Loves raspberry hot chocolate, diet Coke, pizza, fried
chicken, and sour stuff.
He is also about 17, is bisexual, and has a tremendous crush on a male friend of
theirs. Has longish dyed-black hair and deep brown eyes, and plays up his resemblance to
his hero, Freddie Mercury, every chance he gets. He's the musician of the group (lovely
tenor voice, plays keyboards). Rabid Anglophile, so likes hanging out with the veddy
British Robin Alexis Michaels. Loves Italian and Chinese food, and margarita-flavored
snoballs.
Marc Boudreaux (aka Boudreaux) is the adult version of Marc. A bit more mature
but still ready to kick someone's ass if they mess with the system. He's the big sports fan
along with Marc Jr. Also a budding cook. Mai cher, dat Cajun man likes to tell him some
stories, yeah. He's the one who really misses South Louisiana, and craves some chicken
sausage gumbo and potato salad every now and again.
Ms. LeBoeuf is scientist of the group. She's also the lesbian. She is the persona who
interacts with the therapists and doctors and such, as long as things remain on a
somewhat unemotional level. She is a writer, but secondary to Robin. She's the one with
the math aptitude. The only clean freak out of the whole bunch, she's usually overruled at
home. She's also the radical lesbian feminist (such as she is). Loves hazelnut coffee,
Mexican food, and chicken caesar salad.
A persona of androgynous gender, Robin has been (until lately) the principal
Chronicler of the group. Born mid-January 1982 on our first trip to London, so sie
(she/he) is really British. Robin loves breakfast best -- eggs, bacon, toast with marmalade,
and a cuppa Earl Grey. Sie's also a Cadbury's chocolate maniac. Sie adores Patrick
Stewart. Is the persona who has always wanted to be a librarian.
La Abeja, formerly known as Debry Ann, was the critical blaming voice inside.
She is the oldest big, even older than the body. The one who used to judge and make the
system feel bad when things go wrong; she is making great strides in overcoming this.
She has integrated somewhat into wabbit, giving wabbit a voice to be of help to the
system, rather than to harm like "Debry Ann" used to. Her name means, in Spanish, "The
Bee."
