 When
Neighbours stars Dan Paris and Daniel MacPherson were asked to participate in an
indoor abseiling spectacular recently, it was excitement rather than fear that
crossed their minds! It's no secret that both actors enjoy a challenge,
especially if it requires them to be pitted against each other. By the time they
arrived at the Melbourne Central shopping centre- where the abseil was organised
as part of the opening of the Colorado Concept Store- both were determined to
outdo each other with displays of bravery.
"Daniel
and I both a competitive streak, so it was inevitable that we would try to race
each other," Dan says. "At one stage, it got quite hairy and we had to
slow down. Of course, we both claimed victory at the end!" The daredevil
experience required Dan and Daniel to abseil from the top of the centre's famous
glass tower. Although full safety precautions were taken, the descent was not
for the faint- hearted. Even so, Daniel would happily do it again. "It was
absolutely awesome," he says. "Even though it was indoors, it was
still an incredible experience. I'd love to have another go at it some
day!"
