Libby
and Drew are at the coffee shop eating. Libby is glad that now she can eat
without anyone fussing or nagging since the parents have backed off since their
talk with them. Gino then comes into the coffee shop to talk to Libby. He tells
her that he has a good story for her. Gino informs Libby that there are some
hairdressers working at home and that it is unhealthy and unhygienic. Libby
comments to Gino that it sounds as though it¡¦s a whinge rather than a scoop.
Gino tries to convince Libby otherwise and asks her if she¡¦d want to get her
hair done at home. Libby tells Gino that a good hairdresser is hard to find and
once you find one, you tend to follow them. Gino gets annoyed at Libby¡¦s
comment and tells her he¡¦ll just have to go to her competitors and leaves.
Libby and Drew gets back to their conversation and Libby tells Drew that he
should call his mother, he¡¦ll feel better then.
At
the flat, Libby complaining why she¡¦s the only one making groveling phone
calls to her parents. She tells Drew to ring Rose again but Drew tells her his
mum is no push over and his dad wishes Libby good luck for the newspaper award
ceremony. Drew questions Libby if she¡¦s nervous about it. Libby said that she
would be if she knew she had any chance of winning. Later at the flat Libby is
showing Drew two dresses and asks him which one he thinks she should wear. Drew
tells her that she looks fine in both. Libby wishes that Susan was there so she
can help her decide. Drew agrees. At that moment Susan arrives at the doorstep.
Libby and Susan hug and they apologize to each other as Drew leaves for work
At
the flat, Susan to making Libby some orange juice. Susan tells Libby that she
has been hideous, bossy and should have been more sensitive about things. Libby
tells her she was not and that she wants her to interfere as much as she likes.
Later Libby and Susan are at the Scully¡¦s doing some old wife¡¦s magic. Libby
and Lyn decide that since the ring is spinning, the baby is going to be a girl.
They then begin to talk about how Libby wants her hair done for the award
ceremony. Lyn teases Joe a little about his suggestions on hairstyles. Joe
leaves and Lyn asks Libby what she wants her hair to be like.
That
night at the award ceremony, Libby is telling Drew and Susan who everyone is.
Susan hopes that Libby has prepared a speech because she has a feeling in her
bones that Libby is only to win. And when Libby does win she is totally
surprised. She thanks Erinsborough news, Drew and Susan. Just before Libby
leaves the podium, the feature editor at the chronicle asks her to stay around
because he has something to say to her. At the celebration later, Drew is
telling his mother that Libby won. It seems as though he¡¦s back in the good
books again. Tony Partridge is talking to Libby and when Libby joins Susan and
Drew again she¡¦s really excited. She tells them that tomorrow she¡¦s going to
be offered a job by the editor at the chronicle. Both Drew and Susan suggests
that she should knock the job back but Libby tells them that she¡¦s dreamt
about this all her life and when she gets asked, she¡¦s going to say yes
That
night back at the flat, Drew tries to convince Libby not to take up the job but
nothing he says can change her mind about the job since it¡¦s the job she¡¦s
always wanted. The next day Libby meets up with Martin West for an interview.
Martin thought that Libby would have been a little older since her writing shows
that. Martin asks Libby what she would take on as a Youth Affairs Reporter.
Libby begins to tell him her ideas and he¡¦s extremely impressed. He offers her
the job on the spot and she accepts. At that moment Drew arrives to meet
Libby¡¦s new boss. At first Martin thinks that Drew is Libby¡¦s boyfriend but
he tells him that he¡¦s her husband. This surprises Martin since Libby is so
young. He gives her a word of advice to hold of children for a while. However
Drew tells him that it¡¦s too late since they¡¦re expecting their first in 6
months time. Martin congratulates them and leaves. Later back at the flat, Drew
arrives with oranges and realizes something is wrong with Libby. Libby tells
Drew that she just rang the secretary and her attitude was very weird. Libby¡¦s
worried about her job but Drew tells her not to because obviously she must have
impressed Martin if he had offered her the job.
