Last Week   This Week

July 30th- August 4th, 2000

Libby is finally back at Uni. catching up with all her lectures. She comments to Susan that everyone has been so nice to her even Geri. Susan asks if she could catch up with Uni. and Libby tells her it's no problem since they tape the lectures and can always dub it for her. She gets a drink and goes into her room to begin some work. Meanwhile, Drew is at the Scully's having a chat about the motorbike. Lyn asks them to go pick up Felicity at soccer practice. At the field they see Flick who can not play soccer. They laugh at it for a bit, realizing that Felicity is only playing Soccer because of the coach, Posty Pete.

At the Kennedy's, Libby comes out with a box of things- Drew's things such as shirts. She asks Susan and Karl if they could take it to Drew for her, they say no because it is her job to do it and isn't their problem. Susan leaves and Karl asks Libby how Drew will feel getting the things back. Libby asks how she will feel giving them to him because she doesn't want to rub it in his face.

Susan is at the Scully's getting an idea for some hair designs when Drew and Steph comes in. It gets a little awkward and Steph asks Susan how Libby is. She replies saying she's very good, back at Uni. and working. Drew and Steph leaves and Lyn apologizes for not telling her that Drew was there. Susan tells her she doesn't have to apologize since she can't avoid Drew. Just as Susan is about to leave, she has a private word with Drew. She asks how he is, and he tells her that after spending so much time with someone and now... he doesn't know what to do with his life. Susan tells him that no matter what has happened, Karl and her are always there for him and don't be a stranger. Drew thanks her before she leaves

Libby and Karl are cooking dinner at the Kennedy's. Karl is going through the things in the box to give back to Drew and he finds a shirt. He tells her he always thought that shirt was his. She tells him no, she bought it for him but he thinks the colour suits her better. Karl asks her why give it back then? Libby tells him it's called memories. She also tells him she doesn't know why she has to give the things back. Karl tells her it was her choice to call off the wedding so she has to face the consequences, even though he doesn't know how it feels. Both Libby and Karl get into an argument just as Susan comes back. Susan sees that something is wrong when Libby leaves the room to "wash her hands." She asks Karl what happened.

Later that night, Libby is working on her assignments on the computer while Susan looks at a magazine and observing that most people in the magazine are blond. Karl and Susan get into an argument about it just as Libby interrupts them telling her that she's going to call it a night. At the Scully's, they are talking about Felicity's crush and Drew tells Steph about what he has done in the past about impressing crushes. They have a good laugh before Drew leaves. Steph says that she'll see him tomorrow as her leaves. Later Steph tells Lyn that Drew is such a good friend. Lyn then asks Steph if that's all she sees Drew as, and nothing more. Steph denies any other interest in Drew, and the thought never crossed her mind. Drew is just a friend. Lyn asks Steph about the past when Steph had a crush on Drew. Steph tells her that it was ancient history, and besides she's a friend of Libby and that's a line she'll never cross. Lyn tells her, just as long as no one gets hurt, and Steph says no one will. She doesn¡¦t want her mum to speak to her sisters or father because if Libby finds out about this, she¡¦ll die. Lyn assures her they won¡¦t find out from her.

At night, Libby comes out to get a glass of water and she tells her mother that she¡¦s been thinking about Drew¡¦s things and she¡¦ll give him a call tomorrow. She says goodnight to Karl and Susan and goes back into her room. Karl asks Susan about what¡¦s happening with Libby. Susan tells him that Libby is going to give Drew a call tomorrow. Karl is happy and positive about this. And the both of them are hoping they will sort things out.

The night morning, Steph arrives at the garage ready to test drive her bike. She¡¦s a little nerves about it and Drew offers to ride with her but she tells him she has to do it by herself. They agree to meet at the coffee shop later and Steph rides off. At the Kennedy¡¦s Karl talks to Libby just before he goes to work. Karl asks Libby if she¡¦ got up in the middle of the night to do her work. Libby tells him not to worry, everything is under control. Later he asks her about what she¡¦s going to do about Drew. She tells him she¡¦s going to give him a call, his stuff has to go back sometime.

At the coffee shop, Drew meets Toadie and they talk for a bit. He asks Drew to look at his car. Steph comes flying into the coffee shop all excited from the ride. Drew asks how it was. She tells him it was excellent. She would have given him ticks for all the work he¡¦s done on it. Drew is happy for Steph and is proud of her. Toadie meanwhile is standing besides them, knowing there¡¦s something suss about Steph¡¦s reaction to all of this (which we are later told that he thinks Steph has a crush for Drew. He told Dione this, indirectly, and hopes it isn¡¦t true) Meanwhile, back at the Kennedy¡¦s, Libby stops doing her work for a while and she decides to get up to get the phone to call Drew.

Drew, Toadie and Steph arrive at the garage just as the phone rings. Drew opens the garage and answers the phone. It¡¦s Libby. He¡¦s a little surprised by the call but talks to her. She asks if she could see him after work. He tells her he¡¦ll come around 5. After the phone conservation, he tells Toadie and Steph that Libby wants to see him. Steph is happy for him, though you can tell she¡¦s a little upset. Drew looks at this situation trying to make something out of it, but Steph tells him just to wait until he talks to Libby.

Libby is at home doing her work when someone knocks at the door. It¡¦s Drew. She opens the door and it gets a little awkward. He gives her some flowers and comes in. Drew asks how Libby is and she tells him there¡¦s not much pain anymore and that Uni.¡¦s good. Drew asks why she called, and that he thought it was because she wanted to talk. She tells him no, but just wanted to give him some things back. Drew asks since that he is there can they talk. Libby tells him there¡¦s nothing to talk about. This isn¡¦t this fault or hers. There has been an accident and things have changed. It¡¦s all for the best and she hopes that they can be friends one day. Drew laughs that idea off and tells her Karl or Susan could have brought those things back to him. She tells him they didn¡¦t want to and it¡¦s her responsibility. Before Drew can answer, Karl and Susan comes back home and Drew just leaves. Libby doesn¡¦t tell them either what¡¦s happened and goes into her room, obviously upset and is crying, with the flowers. Susan tells Karl she¡¦ll talk to her later.

That night, Susan and Libby are having a talk about the situation. Susan asks if there¡¦s anything she or Karl can do to help and Libby tells here there¡¦s nothing they can do. Susan wants Libby to try to explain all of this to her but she won¡¦t. Susan tells Libby that she knows she loves Drew. Libby replies saying how she feel about Drew doesn¡¦t matter here, there¡¦s other things. Susan suggests like not being able to have kids. Libby tells her yes, and among other things too. Some things just don¡¦t work out. Susan tries reason with her saying modern medicine is always advancing, but Libby tells her she wants to plan ahead and not sit back give the guy false hopes, doubting and wondering. She tells her it hurts and she wants it over. Susan tells her she thinks that Libby is being selfish. Libby tells her that, that is her opinion, but she thinks she¡¦s doing what¡¦s best. Susan then walks off.

Later that night, just before Susan goes to be, Libby asks her if she¡¦s mad at her. She says she¡¦s not but that¡¦s Libby is going the wrong way about all of this. Libby asks if she would like to tell her the right way. Susan say no. Libby accuses Susan of being shallow, just wanting the wedding so she can put on a brilliant day and be on centre stage. Susan tells her not to change the subject. Libby then tells Susan that she can¡¦t have kids. Libby, once again, begins to cry. Susan thinks that not being able to have kids shouldn¡¦t affect anything and asks Libby and? Libby tells her nothing and that¡¦s the end, walk away. Susan asks Libby if she thinks Drew will grow to hate her because she can¡¦t have kids. She tells her that it¡¦s wrong. Karl comes out hearing all the noise and asks what¡¦s going on. Libby just say she¡¦s going to bed, leaving Susan upset about Libby¡¦s decision.

The next afternoon, Tess and Dione comes to ask Libby if she¡¦ll like to come over to dinner. Libby accepts the inviting, saying anything to get out of this mad house. That night, the three of them have a bit of a talk and asks why Steph isn¡¦t with them. Libby hopes that it isn¡¦t because of her seeing they had a disagreement. Tess assures her that it wasn¡¦t. Lou comes in later asking them for recipes. Both Tess and Dione suggests theirs but Libby tells him she can¡¦t cook, though in the end she was convinced into writing one for Madge.

At the pub that night, both Lou and Steph comments that it was his first night out in a long while. He tells him he must have cobwebs on him. Steph asks how he is and how did the talk with Libby go. Drew tells her that Libby actually didn¡¦t want to talk and say she changed her mind but instead just to give him some things back.

August 7th- August 11th, 2000

Steph invites Drew to a family dinner that night but he declines the offer. Although Steph tries to convince him with no help from Lyn, he still refuses but thanks her. Drew leaves the house and just as he is walking home, he sees a taxi pulling over at the Kennedy¡¦s. He stops walking and watching as Libby gets out the taxi, drop her Uni. books on the floor, pick them up and go into the house.

Not even an hour after Drew has left the Scully¡¦s, Steph decides to check up on how he¡¦s doing. Lyn tries to stop her saying Drew needs his own space but Steph still goes to see Drew. When she arrives at his house, she debates whether to knock on the door or not. Eventually she does. Inside the house, Drew is listening to some music on his headphones and hears the knocks. He looks outside the window and sees Steph. He stands at the window until Steph leaves.

At the Kennedy¡¦s, Libby is trying to do her Uni. work on her computer, but the computer keeps going on and she gets frustrated at it. Later Toadie knocks on the door and she welcomes the distraction. They begin to talk for a while and Toadie tells Libby that Bill wants to know how she is and so does he. Libby tells him that she¡¦s over the fact that the engagement¡¦s off, but Toadie does not believe her. He asks her that shouldn¡¦t accidents like this bring you closer to the people you love rather than push them away? Libby just tells him it depends if you really loved them or you just think you love them. Toadie just tells her that he cares about her and Drew. She knows and tells him that she¡¦s fine. Really.

At night, the Scully¡¦s are about to go out to dinner when Steph see Drew. Instead of listening to what Flick is telling her she just watches Drew as he goes to get his mail. Then she sees Libby going into Toadies car, obviously going out, and thinks about the situation. Late that night, Drew wakes up from watching television from the couch. He turns the TV off and begins to pack up the pizzas he had for dinner. Meanwhile at the Kennedy¡¦s Libby comes out of her room to get a glass of water when she sees her father¡¦s unfinished model ship. She begins to try and continue building it when she¡¦s sprung by her father. Karl tells her that whatever she does to it, he¡¦s going to take credit for it. They begin to talk about Libby¡¦s work and Karl is concerned that she¡¦s working too much. Libby is surprised by this comment and tells him she just wants to catch up. Back at Drew¡¦s, he decides not to pack up the dinner and leaves the house in a total mess before going to bed.

The next morning, Karl and Susan are at the garage getting the car serviced but Drew is not there. Karl is frustrated but Susan keeps her calm and rings Drew. Drew has just woken up and answers the phone. He apologize for not being there because he overslept and will be at the garage in 10 minutes. They hang up the phone and Drew goes to get some milk, but it¡¦s out of date and throws it out- he¡¦s a mess. Libby is waiting for a bus to Uni. when Steph pulls over asking if she need a lift. Libby tells her she¡¦s ok and Steph is already late. Steph tells her it doesn¡¦t matter. Libby still declines the offer and tells her the bus will come soon, but thanks. Steph apologize to Libby about what she said previously. Libby tells her it doesn¡¦t matter, Steph¡¦s Drew¡¦s friend and was probably just looking out for him. Steph suggests that they should go out soon. Libby agrees and Steph leaves.

Later at the garage, Daniel asks Drew if he could join their football team and explains why they need more players. Drew tells him he has too much to do but in the end tells Daniel that he¡¦ll go to the training that afternoon if he can. That afternoon, Drew calls Karl to say that he has finished the car and will leave the keys on the tyre for him to pick up since he has to leave. Steph comes with spare parts to deliver. She tells him that he looks shocking and makes him promise that he¡¦s have an early night tonight. Steph leaves and Drew locks up the garage and puts the key to Karl¡¦s car on the front car. What he doesn¡¦t know is a man to watching him as he is doing that. As Drew drives off, the man walks towards the garage.

Drew gets back from the bank and is ready to go home when Daniel and Paul comes to ask him to football again. At first Drew says no, but in the end agrees to go. When Karl goes to pick up his car from the garage, it¡¦s missing and he gets annoyed again. He tries to ring Drew at home but Drew is just about to leave and doesn¡¦t pick up the home. Back at the Kennedy¡¦s Karl is frustrated and Libby asks where have they been. Karl asks if Drew has called. She says no, but the police has.

While Drew is at football training, Karl and Susan finds their missing car with no computer. Karl, Susan and Libby argues who¡¦s fault it is. Karl is angry at Drew for what¡¦s happened while Susan is giving Drew the benefit of the doubt. Libby tells them it¡¦s Drew¡¦s fault and responsibility, she¡¦s being pragmatic. Libby is worried about the work she has lost on the computer and tells her mother not to make excuses for Drew because he doesn¡¦t deserve any. After training, all Paul, Drew, Harold and Daniel are at Tess¡¦ talking about the training. Paul asks Drew how he is with the garage and all, Drew tells him he could be better.

That night, Susan visits Drew, surprised at the mess of the place, and tells him what has happened. Drew apologizes for it all but also mentioned that Karl agreed to the key on tyre arrangement and that he has done it before. Susan tells him not to worry, it¡¦s there problem and they¡¦ll sort it out. At the Kennedy¡¦s, Libby is just about to go to sleep and Susan is being a worrywart. Libby tells them she has to go to Uni. tomorrow to get a computer, and leaves. Susan and Karl discuss that they have to go get a new computer soon when someone knocks on the door. Karl opens the door and it¡¦s Drew. He gives Karl the cheque for the computer but he won¡¦t accept it and gives it back. Neither will Susan. Drew apologizes and says he has to go. Just before he goes he puts the cheque on the table next to the door leaving Karl and Susan with the check. And they don¡¦t know what to do with it. The next day, Susan tells Karl she¡¦s been thinking about the cheque and Karl asks her what she¡¦s going to do to it. At that moment, Susan tears the cheque up and Karl agrees with her actions.

August 14th- August 18th, 2000

Libby arrives at No. 30 only to find Joel and Dione arguing at the front door. With the door opened she stands there watching the couple fight. It was only later did they realize that Libby was standing there with Bob. Dione leaves and Joel apologizes to Libby about it all. Joel tells Libby that the fight was so illogical. Meanwhile at the garage, Steph arrives with a delivery. Drew thinks that she has been avoiding him but she just tells him she has been very busy. When Drew offers to go for coffee she turns him down, and she makes an excuse when he asks about meeting after work. Drew sees that there¡¦s something wrong but Steph tell him it¡¦s only a bad morning. At the end, Drew convinces Steph to meet him at the pub after work.

Libby asks Joel about his problems with Dione. Although she¡¦s sympathetic about it all, she asks Joel not to make her take sides. Besides she¡¦s not good with advices or relationships. Libby tells Joel she has to go back to the hospital and is anxious about it all. When Joel asks what it¡¦s for she tells him ultrasound. Joel tells her he¡¦ll think about her. He asks her if she¡¦ll like a chocolate cherry milkshake. Libby says yes and asks if he treats himself to that rather than a relationship.

That night at the Kennedy¡¦s, they are having dinner and talking about the ultrasound. Libby tells her parents that it¡¦s big deal. Karl and Susan decides to go along with Libby. Libby tells them it¡¦s fine if they¡¦re not at the actual procedure. Susan assures Libby that it¡¦s all going to be fine, but Libby tells her that she doesn¡¦t know that and doesn¡¦t want to get her hopes up. At the pub Steph and Drew are debating who works harder. Steph suggests that they swap jobs and see how Drew would like it. Steph tells him about her beliefs in working- that you can make the best of everything as long as you work at it. Later at the pub, Drew suggests that Steph should go to his place someday and they can watch video while eating chips. Steph asks when and Drew tells her that sometimes next week because he has to do something. Steph asks Drew about this ¡¥something¡¦ but he wouldn¡¦t say. Eventually she gets it out of him, he¡¦s making a fairy garden for Lolly. Although Steph thinks that¡¦s quite cute, it¡¦s quite funny as well.

The next day Libby comes back from her ultrasound and Karl tells her that although it¡¦s not good news, it¡¦s not bad either. Libby tells her parents all she wants to do is that about this on her own. Drew knocks on the door and comes in to ask them about the computer. He tells Karl that he doesn¡¦t think he gave them enough money. Libby asks what money and they tell her it was for the computer. Libby asks why they didn¡¦t tell her. Karl says it wasn¡¦t important. Libby is upset about the fact that she wasn¡¦t told. Drew leaves, and Libby tells her parents that they should stop protecting her and should let her at least try to get her life back to normal. Libby tells them she wants to be treated like the same person. She doesn¡¦t understand what¡¦s changed.

That night while Karl and Susan are watching the TV, Libby comes out to apologize and thank them for what they have done for her. She knows she¡¦ over reacted but some things are a bit sensitive to her. Karl suggests they go down to dinner at the pub. At first, Libby didn¡¦t want to because she though Drew might be down there but she changes her mind and decides to go. At the down, Drew is talking to Daniel when Libby, Karl and Susan comes in. The awkwardness between Libby and Drew is obvious and don¡¦t really know what to say to each other.

The football match was tough the next day, with Paul getting knocked out unconscious, but they eventually won with Drew kicking the winning goal. At the Kennedy¡¦s, Susan is on the phone talking to Malcolm when Libby comes in. Susan has been told someone was pregnant. It was after she hangs up the phone did she realize Libby was in the kitchen. Susan asks Libby about her walk and Libby asks Susan who is pregnant. Susan tells her it¡¦s Sarah. Libby says they must be thrilled and she¡¦s happy for them.

At the pub, Drew asks Steph to go to his place and help him with the fairy garden. Steph teases Drew on it for a while but agrees to go. That night, at Drew¡¦s, they work on it but Steph says she has to go. Drew asks her to stay longer but she says no. She was about to pay back Drew the $10 she borrowed of him when one of the coins drops into the water in the fairy garden. Drew tells her she can¡¦t leave now and to make a wish, make it a good one or it won¡¦t come true.

***********************************************************

August 21st-25th, 2000

At the fairy garden Drew is asking Steph what she wished for, but Steph is not telling. Drew tries to get it out of her saying it is his garden but she still won¡¦t say anything. The lights get cut short in the garden and Drew tells Steph that the wish must have been a good one. Meanwhile, Libby has gone to No.30 to use the computer at their place. Libby tells Lance and Toadie to carry on as though she¡¦s not there. Walk around in their undies, swear, burp etc, she¡¦ll be as quiet as a mouse. Lance asks her if he has to, it was only a joke.

Back at Drew¡¦s they are inside and Drew has made himself a coffee when Steph tells him she has to go. She seems a little uncomfortable there and tells Drew that she has to go home for dinner. Drew suggests that she eats with him but she declines. Drew sees that Steph isn¡¦t with him and tells her that he hopes her wish comes true, just before she leaves. If Steph did go back home to eat, soon she arrived at No. 30. Toadie asks Steph what she has been up to and she tells him about Drew¡¦s fairy garden. Toadie laughs at this when Libby and Lance comes back from getting a drink. Toadie tells them about Drew and Libby says it¡¦s really cute. Libby watches as Toadie and Steph left to get a drink.

Later that night, just as Steph leaves, Libby catches up with her and asks Steph why she is avoiding her. Steph tells Libby that she¡¦s only imagining it. Libby says she¡¦s not and that they used to be really good friends. She wants to sort things out. Libby and Steph goes back to the Kennedy¡¦s to talk. Steph tells her it¡¦s probably because she still feels guilty about the accident and says if they could talk about it some other day. This is because a lot of people have been asking her how she is and she¡¦s sick of it. Libby agrees with this but says she doesn¡¦t want to lose Steph¡¦s friendship and neither does Steph. Steph apologize for not being a good friend lately and Libby suggests they get together like they used to some time soon.

The next day, Lou and Lolly comes back from Queensland and sees the house in a mess. Lou figures that things aren¡¦t still good with Libby. Drew tells Lolly that he has a surprise for her. Just as Drew is about to show Lolly the surprise, Steph knocks on the door and comes in. Steph came just to remind Drew about a van check up. Lolly tells Steph to come and see her surprise. They go outside and Lolly sees the fairy garden and loves it! Drew suggests that she have a party one night. Lolly asks if she can tonight and Steph has to come. Steph tries to get out of it, but doesn¡¦t succeed.

Later that day, Steph comes to pick up her van and tells Drew she can¡¦t make it to the party because she already had plans, even though she said yes to Lolly. That night, at no. 30 Libby is about to leave after using the computer when Steph comes in. Libby suggests to her that when she¡¦s sick of them- Lance and Toadie- she should pop in to her place. Toadie sees that Steph is down and they begin to play scramble when Drew comes in asking for 10s and 1000s for Lolly¡¦s fairy party. Drew sees Steph at no. 30 and says that she though she had something one that night. Steph didn¡¦t know what to say when Toadie helped her out saying she and he with Joel and Lance are meeting up later. When Drew leaves, Toadie asks Steph what is up. Steph doesn¡¦t want to say and denies anything is wrong, but Toadie says it¡¦s Drew, isn¡¦t it? Steph admits this to him.

Toadie and Steph continue to talk about this. Steph tells Toadie that she¡¦s been feeling this way ever since she arrived at the street. Toadie suggests she shouldn¡¦t do anything now because Drew might take Steph up on the rebound and Steph says she definitely doesn¡¦t want this.

Libby is at no. 30 doing her work on the computer when Toadie comes and starts asking Libby how she is. From all the cross examination Toadie is doing, Libby figures that something is up. She asks Toadie what¡¦s up with him. Toadie just says that Joel is driving him crazy about Dione. He tells her that Joel realizes he loves Dione and can¡¦t live without her but he doesn¡¦t want to make the first move so he waits all day at the phone and jumps on it as soon as it rings. Libby mutters that she knows how that feels. Toadie asks if she waits for Drew to ring. Libby says no, but it¡¦s obvious that she¡¦s not telling the truth. Toadie then asks Libby what if Drew has met someone else? Libby straight away answers him back with a question asking if he has. Toadie doesn¡¦t say anything to Libby but she keeps pushing him for an answer. Libby explains herself saying that she wants people to stop protecting her and asks Toadie once more if he has met someone else. Toadie tells her no, and it was only a hypothetical question

That afternoon, Libby sees Steph at the coffee shop and suggest that they sit down for a bite. Steph tells her she can¡¦t because of work, but she eventually agrees when Harold tells Steph that eating on the run isn¡¦t good. Later the day, Steph arrives at the garage delivering a part to Drew. Drew suggests that she have a coffee with him, but she says she can¡¦t. She¡¦s running late and she¡¦s already had a break with Libby. Drew tells her that he¡¦ll help her deliver the parts and she thanks him for that. At night, Libby is playing a computer game against her mother- she wins this. Libby comments on how amazing the computer is. Susan tells her that what¡¦s amazing is the fact that Libby seems more like her usual self now. Libby tells her it¡¦s because no one is hassling her about her private life. Susan then comments on how she can even talk while playing the game. Libby tells her that it¡¦s generational. She mentions that in a few years time her kids¡K well the kids of tomorrow will soon leave her behind.

The next day, Joel comes for a visit and Libby talks to him about marriage and commitment. Joel admits to Libby that he might have rushed things a bit when he asked Dione to marry him. Libby tells him that marriage is a life long commitment made only to the person you want to spend your entire life with, your dream partner. Joel tells her that he knows that. But then Libby tells him maybe he has to realize that he might not be Dione¡¦s dream partner. Joel asks Libby if she got it wrong too. That she said yes to her dream partner but what happened there? Later that day, Libby is reading a book when she puts it away and takes out a photo or Drew and her and looks at it.
