Karl, Susan, Libby and Drew comes back, at night, into the Kennedy household after seeing another band perform. They are all laughing and commenting about how bad the band is. Libby and Drew suggest that they want elegant, funky, informally formal and music people can dance to at the wedding. Libby continues to tease Drew about the fact that he keeps singing. Not realizing there is actually a robber in the house Libby and Drew leave for the pub. After they leave, because Libby decided she does not want speeches, Karl throws out his speech much to Susan's disapproval of it. Libby and Drew arrive at Tess and Dione's place, even though the girls refused to open the door until they knew who it was because they were just robbed. When they finally the door they decline the offer to go to the pub. Libby and Drew realize that they were robbed and are concerned for them. Libby comments that there might actually be a good story for this in the paper. Meanwhile, back the Kennedy's when Karl takes the garbage outside, the robber comes out of his hiding place, shocks Susan and leaves. Soon after, Libby and Drew rushes home after being at Tess and Dione's and seeing a police car outside their house. Libby realizes that they have been robbed even though nothing much has been taken. The next morning, Susan is outside putting up the laundry when Libby comes out to tell her mother that the kettle is on. Susan is still a like shaky about the fact that the robber was actually in the house. Libby sees the garbage out on the the ground with bits and pieces falling out, she cleans it up only to find Karl's wedding speech there. Susan suggests that Libby read the speech and give herself a laugh even though she doesn't want any at her wedding. Libby comments that it would be filled of pun and anecdotes. Libby sits down on the step and reads the speech when Susan leaves. Libby realizes that the speech is not what she expected and it's actually quite touching. At the surgery, Libby comes in to visit her father. She hugs him and Karl comments that he only has loose change. Libby tells Karl that she has just read the speech and it was lovely. Karl told her that he threw that away. Libby begins to read part of the speech to Karl but he doesn't want to hear it. When she finishes she asks Karl to give the speech at the wedding. At first Karl does not want to but eventually gives in to Libby's persistency of it. Later at the coffee shop Tess, Dione and Libby are talking about the robberies and perhaps it may be linked to Larry. The subject moves onto the wedding and Libby speaks a little too soon when she says the wedding thing is actually turning out to be quite a joy. As soon as she said that, her mother rings her with bad news. Back home, Libby is on the phone to Gail about bridesmaid business. Gail can not come to the wedding because her child has to have an operation. Libby is distressed about this and does not know who she can ask to be her bridesmaid at this late stage. Meanwhile, Drew is at Harold's having singing lessons. Harold demonstrates an exercise to Drew but Drew, not being a singing, can not do it. They go back to the basics when Madge comes in. Drew decides it's time to leave but not before Harold reminds him to practice. After Drew leaves, Madge asks about the lessons. Harold comments that Drew isn't a natural but he believes miracles can still happen. That night when Libby and Drew comes home, Susan is still a little jumpy. Karl and Susan are making dinner and Libby goes to talk to them about bridesmaid replacement. Drew sits down on the couch and begins to hum and practice singing. Soon after, Karl, Susan and Libby realizes what he is doing and all stare at him. Finally Drew figures this out. Libby comments that he has been humming all afternoon. Susan defends Drew saying that him humming means he is happy. Libby teases him saying that he isn't in tune. Someone knocks on the door and it's Lance asking for Drew to help him fix his ute. At no.30 Drew asks Lance if he can sing. Lance says that he can and Drew suggest that he sing something. Lance does and it is horrible. Drew laughs even though he knows it's not the right thing to do. Drew rushes over to Harold's and begins to tell him about what happened with Lance. Drew knows that he is going to make a fool of himself and ruin the day when he sings but Harold tells him not to be so pessimistic about it all because they still have time, he'll be fine. With this, Drew leaves. Next day at the coffee shop Libby and Drew are discussing who to DJ for them. The are both stressed out about different things with the wedding. Libby about who will be her bridesmaid and Drew about the singing. Drew tells Libby that he doesn't know if he can go through with the ritual. Libby tells him that he can't pull out now because he'll be ending something that's gone on for generations. Libby tells Drew that she's finally realizes that some traditions are good to keep so she's asked her father to do a speech. She tells Drew he'll just have to go through whatever it is he has to- it can't be that bad!
At the Kennedy's, Drew and Libby are talking about the wedding. Susan suggest that Libby should still have a bridesmaid even though Libby has decided not to. Out of the blue, Drew tells Libby that he has to go- he has an appointment with Harold but won't tell her what it's about. As a joke, Drew tells Libby he's planning to elope with Harold- and leaves. Libby comments that Drew can be so infuriating sometimes. That night, at the pub, Tess and Dione are talking about Libby's friendship with Steph. Tess is explaining to Libby why Steph and her had a fall out and the reason why Steph pulled out of being bridesmaid. Dione is suggesting to help Libby and Steph make up when Libby, herself, arrives at the pub. Tess and Dione decides not to say anything. Libby joins her friend saying she's at the pub to escape the subject of the wedding. Though, as soon as Libby sits down, the subject turns to the wedding again- Libby is telling them about Drew having to do something for the wedding. Karl comes home that night and tells Susan that he is not going to give a speech anymore because it won't be a surprise- Libby's seen it. He tells Susan he has come up with something different. Something bigger and bolder. Back at the pub, Tess is telling Dione and Libby about someone's hen's night a few years back. Libby tells them that she just wants something quiet. Libby ask if she could have a quiet night at their place- Dione and Tess agrees. They continue to talk about the wedding- Libby tells them that Drew's brother Stewart is going to be the best man. Dione and Tess suggests that Libby could still have a bridesmaid. The both of them offer to be bridesmaid but Libby has decided not to have one. With the continuous talk of the wedding, Dione suggests that for 5 minutes they won't say anything about the wedding. The three of them agree, a stop talking. There's silence between them until all three of them burst out laughing. At the Kennedy's, Karl is putting on a overhead projector filled of photos of Libby when she was young. Susan realize that he is going to show them at the wedding and tries to stop him. The two of them go through the photos, reminiscing the past. Susan, still, stronger suggests to Karl to give the speech instead. The next day at the coffee shop, Karl bumps into Drew who has bad news. His father's cousin is coming to the wedding from Scotland. Karl doesn't see why this is bad news. Drew tells him that it's sort of hard to explain why it's bad news. Fergus is the unofficial family tradition keeper, he is a bit eccentric and is going to bring haggis over. Susan and Libby are ready to go out to pick up her dress when Susan comments that Libby hasn't been eating much so she might have to get the dress adjusted. She asks Libby if they should pick up the bridesmaid dress as well. Libby says yes since they've already paid for it. Susan asks Libby whether Gail or Steph would change their minds about being bridesmaid. Libby tells Susan that she'll just go pick up the dress first. At the coffee shop, Dione and Tess are trying to think of what they should do for Libby's hen's night. Tess tells Dione that Libby wants a quiet night but Dione ignores that. Finally Dione comes up with an idea. She's going to 'make Libby an offer she can not refuse.' It's from the Godfather even though Tess doesn't get it. Dione convinces Tess to be part of the plan. Later, Tess and Dione are talking about the plan to Madge, asking her where they could find costumes when Libby comes in. Libby tells them that she's picked up her wedding dress but they can't see it until the day. Harold asks Libby if she knew the identity of 'Agony Aunt' from the newspaper. Libby says yes but she can't tell Harold. Harold leaves for an appointment with Drew. Libby really wants to know what it's about but Madge tells her that secrecy adds spice to everything. Madge, not knowing that Libby doesn't know the plans the girls are making, almost spills it out but Dione covers it up and Libby doesn't suspect anything. Tess and Dione leaves when Steph comes in. Steph joins Libby for coffee. Madge thanks Libby for keeping her secret from Harold. At the Kennedy's, Susan suggests that she could talk about the soppy stuff at the wedding- such as Libby and Drew were meant for each other even before they knew it themselves. Karl agrees and he gives Susan a script. He has designed a skit for them at the wedding. Susan hates the idea and simply rips it up. Dione and Tess arrives at the Kennedy's to speak to Susan about plans for tonight. Dione tells her that there has been a slight change of plan. At the Bishop's, Harold is demonstrating another singing exercise to Drew. Drew tries it but ends up laughing. Harold tells him that his problem isn't his singing, it's his confidence. Harold tells Drew he can be confident about the singing because he can do it, and he can do it well. Drew tells Harold that he can see everyone laughing at him at the wedding. When Harold asks about the song, Drew tells him that he knows the song by heart because it's been sang at 5 other family weddings. He later tells Harold that Fergus is coming to the wedding from Scotland with Bagpipes- and that is making him nervous. Harold tells Drew that he can give up or give it his best At the coffee shop, Libby and Steph are talking about the wedding. Libby tells Steph that there seem to be something missing- a best friend to share it with. Libby asks Steph if they can go back to the way it was. She's already picked up the bridesmaid dress and there's no one to where it. Steph tells her that some much has happened between them. Libby agrees but tells Steph that it is all in the past now, and she'll rather leave there. Steph agrees to be bridesmaid and Libby is extremely happy. Libby asks if she's doing it for their parents or themselves. Steph tells Libby that she's doing it for their friendship, she's missed it. Steph later tells Libby about what happened with Woody- receiving stolen goods on her bike and then Steph making him go to the cops. Libby asks Steph if she loved him. Steph says yes. Libby suggest if that's why she turned to Drew, because she missed Woody. After some thinking, Steph tells her probably. Back at the Bishop's, Drew has just finished his singing lesson and they begin to discuss Paul's driving. Harold tells Drew that Paul doesn't like learning from him. Drew suggest to help but Harold tells him not to worry and he'll probably be a bit busy from the wedding and the honeymoon. Drew tells Harold that with the honeymoon, it's another secret, Libby has no idea where they're going. Harold comments that marriage rituals are wonderful. Drew corrects him and says some of the are. Harold tells him that he's sure Drew will be glad when it's all over, but at the same time happy that he went through it all. Libby and Steph arrive back at the Kennedy's when Lyn is about to leave. Since both Lyn and Susan are there, Libby tells them that Steph has agreed to be bridesmaid again- she's very happy. The two of them goes into Libby's room to try on the dress. That night, at the Kennedy's, Drew is playing chess with Karl and Libby is about to go out to Tess' when someone continuously knocks on the door. It was only until Libby opened the door that the knocking stopped. Libby is shocked to see Tess, Dione, Steph and Susan dressed up as guys, with water guns and an accent. Drew, Libby and Karl begin to laugh at them. They tell Libby that they are Dionie, Stephonie, Tessonie and the Godmother. They are taking Libby out on a offer she can't refuse. Libby is still laughing and says she can't go out with them dressed like that- they look like idiots. Tessonie gives Libby a bag with a dress in it and tells her to put it on. Libby finally agrees and goes to her room to put on the dress. They are waiting for Libby to comes out. Karl asks them where they are going but they won't say a thing. Another person knocks on the door and it's Paul. He is surprised to see them all dressed like that but Karl just tells him to ignore it. Paul tells Karl and Drew that he's in the team, the Dingoes- and has brought videos over to watch. Libby comes out with the red dress on and a blonde wig. Drew sees her and suggests to come along but he's not allowed to. The fours of them puts their accent back on and takes Libby to the limo. Just before Susan (Godmother) leaves the house, she sprays Karl with the water gun. Outside the Kennedy's, Libby can't believe they actually got a limo and asks where they are going, but they won't say a thing. Libby gets into the limo and Stephonie and Tessonie pops the champagne, while the Godmother gets the show on the road. Libby and the 4 of them are at the pub dancing. At first Libby is dancing with Tess, who comments that they actually ended up there. Steph cuts in and begins to dance with Libby. Libby tells Steph that she's having a great time especially that she's there. Tess and Susan comments that is seems as though Steph and Libby has sorted out all their problems. Soon, Dione cuts in and beings to do the tango with Libby. Back at the Kennedy's, they have finished the footie videos and Karl asks Drew what he's doing for his buck's night. Drew tells him that his brother will organize something when he gets here- it'll be a quiet night. Karl comments that, that is what Libby said as well. He tells Drew that the girls should be back soon but Drew tells him that with 5 guys dressed like that, out on the streets, who knows when they'll be back. At the pub, Tessonie, Dionie, Stephonie and the Godmother are spraying their water guns at a innocent bystander. Although the bystander tells them to stop, they don't. Libby is next to them, laughing her head off. The next morning, Drew sees Karl outside ready to leave and asks when the girls got back home. Karl tells him around 3am and they made so much sound it could've woken the dead. Karl continues to comment that someone would need black coffee all day just to stay awake. Susan hears his and obviously very tired, and not in a good mood tells Karl not to be smart. Libby meets up with Drew, who is tired as well, Libby tells Drew that she had the best night and will tell him about it after she recovers. Drew comments to Libby that that's another tradition out of the way, they're almost there. Libby and Drew are out near his car hugging when Paul with Harold drives in. Paul is going too fast and is losing control of the wheel. Harold is trying to gain control as they head straight towards Libby and Drew. Libby and Drew doesn't see the car until the last minute as they both turn their heads to the car...
*NOTE* I've decided to take a different approach in writing the summaries to this special wedding week. I thought it might be better to get a more personally point of view. So the summary below is mostly written by Mike, while I just added a few bits and pieces. If you would like to receive more reviews written by Mike join his Rhythm of Neighbours club, it's pretty good- trust me!!
MONDAY
Last week on Friday we were left hanging in a cliffhanger which was good enough
for the end of year cliffhanger. TUESDAY It's exciting, it's unbelievable and it's finally here.... what
is??? Drew and Libby's Wedding of course. Well not yet anyway... 1 Day to
go!!!!! WEDNESDAY Neighbours in its 16 years has had quite a few weddings but none
like Drew and Libby's Wedding. The pre-Wedding celebrations continued and all of the family
finally sat down and ate the dinner which was haggis that looked... well you
wouldn't want to eat it yourself.
Once that was finished, it was the day after... the Wedding Day! It started with
us seeing Libby in a panic at the very early hours of the morning searching her
make up bag for nail polish. Susan woke up and was asking her why is she up so
early and Libby started explaining how she wanted to change her nail polish
colour etc etc etc and Susan was calming her down and Libby was saying how she
has never felt so nervous in her life before. Then the BEST Wedding EVER got even better. If you think back to
past weddings you will remember that not many, actually not any have a reception
after the church. Well that's until now as Drew and Libby got married at a
reception in the city and it was glamorous. The reception was done up
professionally and it was like an exact wedding. There was a main table where
Drew and Libby and the parents and best man and Steph sat at. There were
circular tables for all the guests, there were waiters, there was a band, the
full thing... the full on Wedding! THURSDAY Think back to all the Wedding's that Neighbours have had and tell me if you
remember any of them actually having a Honeymoon and you the viewer getting to
see them on their honeymoon. That rarely happens on Neighbours. Well it's
different for Drew and Libby. We the viewers are experiencing their honeymoon
with them. Its absolutely awesome, its like your there with them. The episode begins with an airplane landing. Here we see Libby and Drew walking out of the plane hand in hand. Karl had planned this honeymoon and they had no idea where they were going. Libby and Drew follows the directions around and ends up at an amazing BMW car. On the car is an envelope addressed to Mr. and Mrs. Kirk. Inside the envelope are tickets and a map- with no indication where they are going. They drive the car, following the map and comes up to a five star hotel, the Hyatt Regency Sanctuary Cove. The couple are amazed at the hotel. They walk around it for a while before being shown to their room- which was the Presidential Suite! After they settled in, Libby asks Drew what he wants to do. She suggests swimming, sailing, bush walking etc etc etc... basically what was on the brochure she was reading. Drew tells her that they left something out of that list and with a pen he writes something down. Libby reads it and smiles. She comments that it's an indoor activity... and they kiss. Later, Libby and Drew are at Seaworld swimming with the dolphins. The trainer there is showing them tricks and they're absolutely having a fabulous time! Anyway after this, the two of them go for a walk. Drew refuses to tell Libby where they are going and changes the subject by asking Libby where they should live. Libby tells him that they'll live at Lou's- but she was only joking so therefore doesn't answer the question. Libby continues to ask Drew where they are going but Drew just leads the way. Libby and Drew ends up on a cruising yacht drinking champagne. They are completely happy and Libby tells Drew that she'll always remember this moment. They drink to Karl and them. Libby thanks Drew for not giving up on her before they kiss.
Libby and Drew are at Wet n Wild- another theme park in Queensland. They are on a water slid having a great time. Drew runs into the pool with a floatie. Libby follows him and they pash. They walk around the place and Libby asks Drew how many honeymoons they can have. Drew suggests that their whole life should be a honeymoon. The both of them laugh. Later on, they are feeding birds. The both of them are holding out a plate of bird seeds and the birds are all over them. Libby is screaming because of the birds all over her. Both of them are having a great time Later they go on a mini train around the wild life park. Drew is pointing out some wild life to Libby. They spend some time with koalas and kangaroos. The both of them feeds the kangaroos while having lunch. Meanwhile, a camera pops out and someone continues to take photos of them without them knowing. Back at the hotel, Drew and Libby are by the beach. Drew is chasing Libby with no success. They sit down while Libby puts more sunscreen on Drew. They discuss about where they'll live when they get back. Both of them agree to look for a flat. Out of no where Libby hears and motor drive of a camera. Then Drew hears this. Libby sees a person in the distance and chases her- but she loses her. She's confused when someone would want to take photos of them. Drew tells her it's probably just some kids Libby and Drew are by the pool at the hotel, walking around with drinks. They are then interrupted when Geri pops out. They both of them are extremely surprised to see her there. Geri tells them that she's doing a follow up for the wedding column countdown. The couple don't like this idea- especially that they didn't know about it. Geri says she'll forget about it if they like but Libby asks her how much she needs. Geri tells them 3 photos and 400 words. Libby agrees to it seeing Geri is already there. Geri leaves, getting really excited. The next day Libby and Drew are discussing what they'll do today when Geri arrives- with a camera of course. They sit down to have breakfast while Geri continues to take photos. Libby tells her to stop and figures out that the photographer yesterday was Geri. Geri comments that at least now they'll have photos of themselves that they've never had. They tell Geri that they are going to the beach. She leaves to get her towel and Libby tells Drew that she shouldn't have said yes At the beach, Libby and Drew seem to be alone. Drew is putting sunscreen on Libby when she claims to have seen a dolphin. Drew tells her it's not a dolphin and they begin to have a friendly bicker. They end up arguing on who is the stubborn one. Libby realizes that Geri is right behind them with a tape recorder. She claims to be doing research. Libby takes the recorder off Geri and edits the tape. Back at the beach, Geri is using her camera to spy on a guy while Libby and Drew are building a sand castle. Geri asks Libby if she saw the guy in the red bordies. Libby tells her she didn't notice. Geri comments that just because she's married, it doesn't mean she's not still a big perve. Libby claims she's not a perve while Drew just laughs. Drew asks Geri if she has a man in her life. Geri tells him that there's too many to chose and that Libby is really lucky to have found the right guy. Back at the hotel pool, Libby and Drew are waiting for their lunch while looking at photos. They comment about each photo but them Geri turns up. Libby tells Geri that she wants to see the proofs before the article goes to print. Geri isn't sure about this seeing people like a good slice of life. Their lunch arrive and it's a large plate of seafood. Geri asks to join them and Libby tells her she can have it all because they've ordered room service. Drew doesn't get Libby until he sees her expression and pretends that they DID order room service. They leave Geri with the seafood. In the hotel room, Libby is really annoyed at Geri being around all the time. She doesn't know when to stop. Drew tells her she's not that bad and that with Geri there, they'll be able to have a honeymoon they'll never forget- just like Libby wanted. Libby smiles and laughs to herself. She seems to have forgiven Geri. Drew tells Libby that one of the things she loves about her is that she never stays mad for long. Later that day, they are about to board a cruise. They have told Geri the wrong time and is extremely happy when it seems as though Geri is no where in sight. They finally get some time along. But once they board the cruise they find Geri there already! With a camera of course. They aren't happy about this as Geri continues to take photos of them. The cruise leaves shore and they look out into the ocean. |
