29th January ~ 2nd February
Libby and
Drew are at the Kennedy's, reading a column Libby wrote about her wedding
countdowns- do's and don'ts etc- Drew pretends to read out loud something the
Libby wrote about shooting the father in law. Libby defends herself saying that
she didn't right that. Libby asks Drew how he feels about her taking work on
their honeymoon. They both agree not to do it. Libby suggests that they should
devote a column on the groom's perspective- his preparation etc. Drew comments
on his "kilt swing" saying he's going to make a total failure of
himself. That brings Libby onto the topic of the Kirk wedding tradition. She
tries to get Drew to tell her what it is but he does not say a thing. He tells
her that his kilt will fall off during the bridal waltz if he tells her.
Later at the
pub, they continue to talk about the Kirk traditions. Drew tells Libby that he
has to get another kilt. Libby teases him and says that he should just whip one
up so he can wear it at the garage after the wedding. Drew tells her that you
can't just whip up a kilt. Libby continues to tease him about his accent, the
kilt etc. Drew and Libby comes to a challenge: Libby will stop teasing him about
it if he beats her in pool. If not, he's have to tell her about the Kirk wedding
tradition. Drew takes up this challenge.
They are by
the pool table and it is Drew's turn. He has two more to go- the red and the
black. Libby is trying her best to distract him. She comments on every little
thing he does. But this does not break his concentration. He gets both of them
in and wins. Libby complains and say they should play best of five. Drew tells
her that the secret is just going to have to be... a secret, until the wedding
day. Although Libby still tries to get some information off Drew, he says
nothing. They decide to go and check out the bands to play at the wedding.
Later that
night, Libby and Drew comes back home to Susan and Karl. They are laughing and
telling Susan and Karl how bad the band was. Libby tells them that the songs
were great, chart top etc but you couldn't recognize them. Drew tells Libby that
she shouldn't be too hard on them, they were giving their best. Libby begins to
tease Drew that he was giving his best as well- she heard him singing along.
Drew comments that there's nothing wrong with singing along. Libby tells Drew
that she loves him but he's no singer. He makes her dad look like Pavarotti.
Just before Karl decides to get his guitar out, Libby goes and sits on Karl so
he can't get off. Drew helps Karl up because he needs to speak to him at the
pub. In a flash, Drew and Karl are out of the house. Libby comments to Susan
that Drew is being very weird. At the pub, Karl tells Drew about the Kirk
wedding tradition. Drew asks Karl what he thinks and Karl says that he should
ask Harold about it. Drew agrees to talk to Harold the next day and they decide
to keep it all a secret.
A few nights
later, Libby and Drew comes back home laughing about another band. The band was
really bad- heads with guitars, tripping over the amps etc. Karl asks Drew if he
has spoken to Harold yet. Drew tells him that he's go on the way home. Libby
wants to know why Drew has to see Harold. Drew just tells her it's none of her
business. Karl changes the subject asking them if they are joining him and Darcy
for dinner. Later that night, after Drew has left, Libby goes to visit Tess and
Dione since Darcy is on the phone with Alice and thought he would like some
privacy. Dione and Tess both aren't in a good mood. Tess' "hot date"
didn't show up for the English lesson and Dione had a bad day at work. Tess
tells Libby that Dee said that Darcy was in a foul mood at work. Libby asks
Dione what had happened and Dione tells her. Libby comments that it is very
strange because Darcy is usually very even-tempered. She tells Dione that things
between him and Alice are pretty hopeless.
Drew goes go
and see Harold and they speak privately about the wedding tradition. Madge tries
to overhear what they are saying but she can't make out anything. The next day,
at the Kennedy's, they have a surprise visitor- Alice. She came to talk to Darcy
since she felt guilty about them having words the night before. When Alice asks
for Darcy, he's not there but his car is there. Libby suggests that maybe Darcy
is at Dione's asking if she wants a ride. Alice tells them that she'll go and
see, she knows where Dione lives. When Alice leaves, Karl tells Libby to quickly
get Dione's number. Libby wants to know what's going on but Karl doesn't say
anything. He gets the number and dials it. Later, Darcy and Alice are inside the
Kennedy's talking while Libby and Karl wait outside. Libby asks Karl whether he
thinks the problems between Darcy and Alice have something to do with Dione.
Karl doesn't know but Libby is slowly figuring it out. Alice storms out of the
house followed by Darcy. They had a few words before Alice drives off in a rush.
Libby, Karl just looks on.
