They might star in different shows and live in different cities, but gorgeous Kristy Wright and Kym Valentine are the best of friends.

Kym and Kristy- Australian Beauties

Six years ago, Kristy Wright was asked to audition for the role of Libby Kennedy in Neighbours. "My agent told me that it was a great part but that, if I got it, I would have to move from Sydney to Melbourne," recalls the actress, who's now starring in another Network Ten series, Above the Law. "At the time, it was such a big step, so I decided not to audition." Soon after, Kristy learned that the role had been taken by an actress named Kym Valentine. "I knew who Kym was instantly, as we had attended the same talent school as kids," Kristy says. "I was so happy that she won the part- and when I saw her on air, I thought she was fantastic."

Soon after, Kristy won the role of Chloe Richards in Home and Away, and found herself flying to Melbourne to attend the TV WEEK Logie Awards. She point a point of catching up with Kym, and the pair have remained good mates ever since. "Everyone meets at the Logies," Kym says, laughing. "It's such a great opportunity to catch up with people from other shows. You get to swap notes." "People think that stars from different shows are enemies, but it's not the case," Kristy insists. "When I met Kym, it was great, because we could both relate to each other as out experiences were very similar." As it happens, in more ways than one, according to Kym!

"When Kristy was in Home and Away, I always though she was the Sydney equivalent of me," she laughs. "Libby and Chloe always seemed to have similar storylines, and we would joke about what would happen if they got together. They would just wallow, because everything that could go wrong did go wrong for them!" "I used to make a habit of watching Neighbours- even more than Home and Away," Kristy reveals. "I think people aren't afraid to say that they watch Neighbours- it's a bit more cultish than Home and Away. I was addicted."

Kristy was overjoyed when she landed the role of Belinda Clark in Above the Law- and it wasn't just because of the thrill of landing a lead role in a regular prime- time series. "When I started on Ten, one of the first things I though was, 'Great- I'm going to see the gang from Neighbours," she says. "Even though they're in Melbourne and I'm in Sydney, hopefully there will be lots of chances for us to do publicity together."

That was the reason enough for TV WEEK to bring the pair of good mates together for out special Easter front cover! There was barely a dull moment behind the scenes as Kym and Kristy traded gossip- and also joked about the possibility of their two shows swapping over. "They're both on the same network, so why not?" Kristy comments. "Ramsay Street could come to the Metro!" And what would happed if Libby Kennedy meets Belinda Clark ended up in a scene together? "I think Belinda would like Libby, but Libby would stress her out!" Kristy says. "Libby is also too intelligent for Belinda, who is a bit more wide- eyed." "Maybe Libby could interview Belinda for the Erinsborough News," Kym suggests. "but they probably wouldn't be great friends- they're very different people."

WHAT WE'RE DOING FOR EASTER...

Kym and Kristy are also very different people when it comes to their plans for the Easter period. Both Neighbours and Above the Law stop production for a week, allowing a well- deserved break for the stars. "I'm going to Cancun in Mexico, with Bree Desborough," Kristy says. "We're still good friends from Home and Away, and neither of us have had a holiday for ages. "We didn't really want to go to an English- speaking destination, so Mexico is perfect for us. We'll have the choice of lying on the beach all day, or going sightseeing if we want. I'm really looking forward to it."

While Kristy is already packing her bags, Kym admits her holiday plans are long way from finalised. "I'm always in two minds when it comes to planning holidays," Kym admits. "A part of me is torn between going to Sydney, where my family lives, and staying in Melbourne with my boyfriend, Chris. Knowing me, I'll just end up taking the easy option of staying at home." Regardless of where they are, both Kym and Kristy are certain of one thing- they'll be tucking into some Easter eggs. "Absolutely- I love chocolate," Kristy says. "Of course, I always eat too much." "Easter always reminds me of going on Easter egg hunts with my sister Shayne when we were both little," Kym says. "It's always a very special time of the year."
