Steph Loves Drew, who Loves Libby

With his dashing looks and hunky physique, Drew Kirk caught the eye of pretty Stephanie Scully the moment she arrived in Ramsay Street. That was 12 months ago, and back then, Drew was going strong with Libby Kennedy. But how times have changed! A regular Neighbours viewers will know, Libby recently broke off her engagement to Drew after a horrific motorcycle accident left her unable to have children- paving the way for Stephanie to finally make her move! In episodes screening this month, Steph decides to confess her true feelings for Drew. And according to Carla Bonner, who plays the tomboy, things don’t go entirely to plan.

 “Steph and Drew go away to the bush for a weekend,” Carla reveals. “Steph is torn between excitement and guilt. She knows it’s her chance to tell Drew how she feels, but at the same time, she feels bad because Libby is her friend and she’s doing all this behind her back. When they get there, the moment feels right and Steph decides to tell him everything. But just as she is about to spill it out, Drew gets in first and says how much he is still in love with Libby!” Fortunately, all is not lost for Steph. Working in her favour is the fact that Libby is resolute to split up with Drew.

 “From Steph’s point of view, there’s not much chance of Drew and Libby getting back together, so all she thinks she has to do is be patient and convince Drew that she is the one for him.” Carla says she doesn’t know if Neighbours scriptwriters will ultimately pair Steph and Drew together, but she says the storyline will continue for several months. “It’s not often that we have things stretch out for such a long period, so this will be interesting for viewers to follow. I was a bit worried viewers would hate Steph for going after Drew but I think it shows Steph is human, You can’t help who you fall in love with, so really, she’s just following her heart."
