I have to go scan that specific  part.  Read volume 2 of Phoenix. It explicitly shows it at the end

The whole narrative is modeled in a kind of recursive way

my  reply

the problem with you is I have to do all the work, like I can find something that is sorta in the area you are talking about like  “ozuna playing his song for the phoenix”  which is towards the bottom of this  page

but it's poisonous voynich, the japanese have a really screwed up culture, intelligent but human mad, all you are telling me is you are poisoned and don't want to leave it !

Also, there are no sexualized stuff in Phoenix vol. 2 or 4. I don't get where you get that impression of Tezuka's artwork.

my  reply

sexualized means an intense male female paradigm, not necessarily soft pornography at all ! you are caught in at it at a substitutive level and perhaps that is the real problem !

stanley kubrick's best  scene ,  not quite sure what it is about it, the music and chants? it touches on something else?

what ?

dave st. germain  replies

that's a great scene – really captures the power of ritual. the camera has a slightly lower perspective as it circles around the priest and women, which makes you have to look up as if you were a child. looking up adds to the viewer's feeling of reverence.

tom cruise's character looks up at the two imposing figures in the balcony who seem to recognize him; it's important that the viewer sees things from his  (small, confused, outsider)  perspective.

how lifeless the scene would be if the whole thing were shot looking down from the balcony!

kubrick was a master of details. there are no accidental meaningful bits in his movies. the chanting is  backwards  romanian priests

speaking of chanting, have you listened  (or especially  watched )  nusrat fateh ali khan?

qawwali concerts are all about transcendent singing. you can see it on their faces. fateh ali khan was the real deal, as far as i can tell.

others may copy his style and mannerisms, but they don't have the presence he had....

You do realize that stuff you said regarding the fractal of the real and unreal was expressed Hi no Tori (Phoenix) by Tezuka? I know that seems an unlikely place to see such a theme explored... but there you go

my  reply

you make all sorts of claims with no evidence, like for instance what I said about the  fractal  of the real and unreal was not said by trezuka !

prove what you say with evidence !

you have this chronic problem of just flicking over stuff and think you understand without the real work it takes !

I am going to learn scuba diving soon, and I plan to try it this Summer:

Scuba diving into kensho

Scuba diving into infinity

The quasi-border between the shore and water

The womb that encases both

Btw, check out this manga. It seems just as profound and deep as Hi no Tori (Phoenix). I seriously recommend checking out Phoenix Volume 2: Future and Volume 4: Karma, and possibly taking a look at this  manga :

They're like poetry. Kind of like how the film Stalker is like poetry.

my  reply

i dived for years sailing around the northern east coast of new zealand and i can safely say not one of those thoughts you listed ever occurred to me !

if they had, i would have given it up they sound so dysfunctionally dangerous !

look, manga is limited, perhaps there is great manga to be created like andrei tarkovsky's film  “stalker”  but i doubt it, the cartoon medium is too limited !

james thurber is way better than any manga i have seen !

you seemed plagued by unreality problems, scuba diving is  (potentially?)  dangerous and needs focus, like always be well on the safe side of your residual nitrogen time/dive tables..........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

nitrogen bubbles in the brain are a worry................ never be tempted to  “bend”/ stretch your allowable time underwater !

water skills and confidence underwater are important !

sepehr g.  replies

I am going to take classes for it, so I will be well-prepared. One needs to get licensed to do it afterall. I'm pretty smart, so I can learn about the stuff you  referenced  :

You should check out Sandman by Neil Gaiman (a Western comic that references a lot of cool mythology) and Tezuka's Phoenix. I think sequential art is unlimited, just as much as poetry.

my

reply

yeah look, are you so smart?  emotional intelligence is perhaps more important in a life sense than intellectual , you are just tangenting at some of the things i am saying and so as aconsequence going around and around in circles !

you are stuck in entertainment, what zen and poetry is really about is a serious business, it's hard enough to approach it in our limited lifetimes, if you are going to fritter your time away on entertainment like gaiman and manga............... well that's your business, but please don't waste my time on your bad choice /s !!!!

btw i should mention that i eventually gave up scuba diving out of a concern for micro nitrogen bubbles forming within the allowed dive table times which research shows, it seemed embolic to me tho i cannot be sure............ but i did make a conscious decision and stopped................. i do think that high hour recreational divers are affected and the issue becomes more significant as one gets past say 32 when all the usual health resiliences of youth start to pass away.........

it's really fundamental with your generation so deeply mired in entertainment that you have to walk away from what is all attention loss and get into the real quality..............

the difference between james thurber, emily dickinson, ibn al-'arabi compared to the endless profusion of video, cartoon and writing swill around today !

sequential art is unlimited but so is life and that is not helpful in terms of what zen and poetry is about, there is some sort of end that can be partaken of.................

the real communion of infinity and it requires estrangement from the masses and their stupidity, not the endless imbibement of populist crap and then to add insult to injury is claimed to be the real thing which is what you are doing !

entertainment versus quality semantic/spiritual seeking, your choice and to date you are too much on the entertainment road !

sepehr g.  asks

How does one get into real quality?

Also, you said,  “ Sequential art is unlimited but so is life and that is not helpful in terms of what zen and poetry is about ”.   What do you mean?  That part confuses me.

my

reply

well those 4 lines making a sort of poem on scuba diving, those are your own thoughts and real, you can see what you think, so in that sense it's the way to go and  “ quality ”

rather than manga you might look at a Jacques derrida video or figure out some poems?

basically you are eliminating junk, voynich and the fruitless and that is itself   is a quality process  and from my own experience is pretty much alifetime task

there's plenty to do and get some real solitude in as well...............

I rarely have opinions on the suitability of material and am guided by practical consequences ...............

what I mean is that life lived and understood conventionally is multitudinous, unending and nonsensical so if you want to get out of that you have to start looking  (and working!)  away from conventional approaches to life like entertainment for relaxation and mutate/shape the way one thinks more in alignment with what the great minds of the past have worked out like wang wei, han shan, Emily dickinson, schopenhauer, derrida

see this is where all the modern spiritual stuff goes wrong,  (including zen!)  is they look to currently alive mediocrities for guidance, but in fact this matter is so difficult and poorly understood you only have a limited number of people over the whole of history who understand it properly !

those people you have to go to for understanding , otherwise you get bogged down in the usual infinity morass of a mist covered and totally opaque life ! :o()

titanium   nanotubes   for dental implants !

i have noticed that people with a large amount of tattoos all seem, once you scratch the surface, to have health problems !

they may look rough and tough, but they are very damaged which usually goes with the need to look  “ rough and tough ”  !

i had thought that the black pigment was the safest but it turns out that it's almost  100%  nano particle!!!!!!!!!!!  unbelievable   !

the problem with nanoparticles is they can go through all the cells being so small, definitely not something you want floating around in the body !

in addition to the nanoparticle problem which can include carcinogenicity as of itself, chemically some of the inks  (there are NO REGULATIONS for inks)  are  carcinogenic  and other wise toxic like some reds can include mercury !

in addition, the tattoo inks are sequestered in the skin by the bodies allergic response to them, as if these days people need more allergy induction :o(

it makes me wonder the extent to which behavior problems are driven by the actual problems discussed above in highly tattooed people like prisoners or bikies, you need the tattoo to be accepted, but with that you get a heap of health problems that induct and maintain unstable and maladaptive behavior !

the metals in piercing jewellery also has allergic heft as does any metal permanently in contact with the skin have some sort of problem !

but hey, no sweat no think, just suffer and pretend is the modern motto, there's no government warning for this stuff, how can it be a problem bro ?

i have seen even the most hardened social outcasts become like putty before the medical system, the bluff of courage fails...............

“ The most  problematic  consequences of diabetes result from relatively short excursions of a person’s blood sugar outside of the normal physiological range, following meals, for example ”

herb ,  I think zen ultimately is this process of discovering we are wrong and working to correct the errors as you point out in that previous post, so knowing what we do of people and ourselves how can there be any financial reward in that !

lucky not to be dragged off the street and be hanged ! :o()

your skill set is is in addiction counselling, why not focus on that, perhaps with wealthier clients................ god knows America needs that ! ?

lots of monied parents with children going off the rails..............

you would be advised imo to walk away from zen, it's not something you understand and really  “ have got it wrong ” ,  you need to look at other things...........

i'm not saying that those who parade as zen teachers have it right either........... just abunch of frauds pretending.............

if you are not pretending then you will leave this post up which I think you will do............ unlike your typical zenster who works so studiously to remove what traumatizes him/them !

see, the brand is corrupt, if you have more integrity than most, then you are supporting  “the brand”  while they just use that and drag it down again !

articulate aren't  ( ed. “metronomic1” )  you ?  or is it crippled mentally by all that sitting ? the problem with knives for self defense is your opponent may be more willing to use your knife than you if he gets hold of it and blood contact these days risks so many diseases........... pepper spray might be a better bet............ this is a realistic video on knife  fighting ;  I don't think zazen is helping your problem solving ! :o(

that video is a very realistic approach to make anyone think one hundred times about getting into a knife fight or using a knife for self defense !  thanx chris roberts !

just checked on the legal aspects of knife carrying here were i live and it is illegal to carry a knife for for self defence ! so likely the only permissible use is in instances of extreme threat and danger of being killed and it's   far far better to avoid those situations  !

well i am a good runner :o)

hmm, a good  video  on knife defence basics/for dummies with john moore who has some other good videos  !

“ so long as i confine my thoughts to my own ideas divested of words, i do not see how i can be easily mistaken ”

the above  quote  by george  berkeley  is a good crystallization of the zen problem, almost the outstanding feature of zennists is their inability to see they are mistaken, simply because they only write and form words, sentences and paragraphs to reinforce what they already know, their writing would have validity if they didn't ban criticisms from their blogs and lives because criticism enables us to evaluate or begin to come into awareness of our mistakes

on the zen blogs there's a sort of current thematic about  no income  and i notice that the same blogs include a you tube video to enliven their rather dull and moronic/stupid blather and they don't see the problem, are they paying a royalty to the video producers ? no ? how much less are they going to garner/gather any income from their unentertaining bilge !

it's an historical accident, sorta 1960's culture and low viralness making assemblies of people not so hazardous from a health point of view and with the now almost/ partly lost ability to make money from publishing they would have been ok, or at least survived, but with today's  “ indianisation ”  of life,  that is unskilled labour, partly skilled labour and even quite skilled is now in competition with quite competent countries with expanding middle classes like china, india and the philippines, earning a living parlaying bullshit is getting more difficult and in fact the internet strongly favours the more competent like eckhart tolle  (i mean at making /putting over bullshit as real)  over the usual idiots

there's nothing that repulses me more than the morons on the message boards and in zen who say that words are not real or don't count and some sort of meditative state is what it is about :o()

well if they ever go through such a state then the words and sentences and poems fully formed will drop from the sky like glittering dew and jewels and pearls and the shining moon on the sea.................

I see the world is not  short  of simpering ninnies :o)

derrida, heidegger and all the great philosophers are quite autistic, like einstein, newton, emily dickinson, milton, dante and leonardo de vinci in their different fields

it has to be that way to bypass the cretinous human theories of minds which are only interested in successful breeding, which from history you cannot say philosophers were :o)

this is the way memory  works  and also it's what goes wrong with zazen ! : o ()

the most used neuronal pathways recursively persist whereas the less used ones don't, in other words with zazen you become more of your AMPLIFIED self and in my observation it is destructive !

zen compounds the problem by dissing wide ranging quality reading despite that dogen did nothing but write and read, and in fact  ryōkan  was also a prolific poet and read and wrote widely in japanese and chinese since his poems contain endless references to and lifting from other poets !

the real  ryōkan ,  not the fake picture that zen paints !

chronic pain doesn't simply cripple through the source injury and the pain itself, but also by causing a very marked reduction in brain  grey  matter !

“ patients with chronic back pain showed 5-11% less neocortical gray matter volume than control subjects. The magnitude of this decrease is equivalent to the gray matter volume lost in 10-20 years of normal aging ”

it's interesting the way new research is showing the brain to be prior in some respects to the actual physical focus of what is causing the problem, not just back pain as in this instance, but for example, glaucoma originating not in the eye, but with injury to the optic nerve axons causing them to  lose  their ability to communicate with the midbrain :o(

Your stigmatization of the desire for privacy as pathological is an attempt to medicalize a moralization in scientific dress. It's not an attempt on your part, per se, in the sense of being intentional. You're just a conduit of mores. So what I'm saying is that you're passively accepting custom, then legitimizing it with a  “should”

You're implying Derrida  *should want*  to have his photograph taken and distributed  (as he would say, made a fetish of) ;  and that if he doesn't, he's  “disordered”

my reply

no, I am saying autism/autistic spectrum is the primary philosophical condition and derrida's aversion to being photographed is neurobiological and reflective of a structurally different brain very far  from  “normative reality”

if you accept that far from being pejorative, that in fact i applaud   disorder  you might understand what i say abit better, in fact it's your prejudice against structurally different neurobiology that is limiting you :o(

he was diagnosed with TB in 1917 !

he may well have lived many years longer or even not got symptomatic Tb without that exposure :o()

interestingly he was also a vegetarian from about 1911 or so and this is also a risk factor for tuberculosis !

it is not an understatement to say this is some of the most  godawfulsinging  and music I have ever heard ?

like the mental retards on the hard core zen blog, so stupid as not to be able to tell that the images they promote are in reality fucked :o(

The severity of their arthritis was related to how low their selenium levels were ” of knee osteoarthritis than those in the lowest-selenium group ”

the magnetic field released by these induction  cooktops  as part of the way they work is so large as to be unsafe !

it's why they have never really caught on !

redforeverjmk  replies

That is simply untrue. Even people with pacemakers can use this technology

my  reply

in actual fact in certain circumstances people with pacemakers are at risk using induction stovetops, search google  “ Do induction cooktops interfere with cardiac pacemakers? ”

however what i am talking about is a different mechanism, which is DNA damage caused by resonance of iron in cells with the magnetic fields!

françois tremblay  replies

did you know that earth produces a giant magnetic field, protecting us from the sun. And my DNA is just fine with it.

get your facts right andrew and get use to magnetic field because induction cooking is just the start. In a near future, every electric products, phone, computer, tv, lights, will be cordless, using magnetic field.

my  reply

the earth's magnetic field doesn't change with time so it's not a problem !

the problem is high magnetic  fields  emitted from devices like induction stovetops which change at the power  (50/60 cycles a second)  and other frequencies !

you wouldn't live close to an electrical sub station, television transmitting tower or under a cell phone transmitting tower, it's all the same problem, resonance of iron in the human body, generating damaging free radicals !

pregnant women particularly  should avoid exposure to these fields, you will notice in the fine print that mobile phone manufacturers exclude use by them :o )(

the length of chest pain is agood  guide  as to wether it'a likely to be a heart attack or not !

“ Of 426 patients included in the study, 38  (less than 9 percent)  had a final diagnosis of heart attack, with  an average chest pain duration  of 120 minutes, compared with 40 minutes in patients without heart attack. In patients with chest pain lasting less than five minutes, there were no heart attacks and no deaths at 30 days ”

years ago there was woman on the autism-mercury message board who was slowly going blind on dmps chelation, i was the only person to advise her to stop ! : o(

i wonder if the combined toxicity of mobilised heavy metals, and dmps stripping the protective zinc out of the photoreceptive region of the retina  (zinc offsets glutamine toxicity in this region) ,  is a mechanism for this happening

interestingly blindness is a symptom of acute lead poisoning and lead displaces zinc forming three cornered instead of four cornered bonds with sulphur        study

methylmercury   accumulates   in the outer segments of the retinal photoreceptors !            study

it also accumulates in the optic nerve, pineal gland and lens !

so actually this is the most significant section on this  page ,  you get mercury or lead binding to sulphur in a way that causes proteins to misfold, if you pull the lead or mercury out then it's only going to be formed into new dysfunctional proteins and preferentially accumulating in critical areas like the thyroid, kidneys, liver and brain, or, like that poor woman chelating with dmps, the outer segments of the retinal photoreceptors !

some interesting  research  indicating that cilantro/coriander binds to heavy metals

if it can bind to them, it can mobilise them and also if grown in an environment with heavy metals in the soil, will be a source of them ! :o(

it has its uses as a cooking herb, but attempting to use it as chelator will be disastrous ! :o()

wolfgang mozart at 27, very boyish looking and not that well actually ?

the usual lead, thyroid etc conundrum of those times with pre-diabetes thrown in ?

he was well enough in his last year to father a child witha pupil

on the day after wolfgang's death, the husband attempted to kill his wife by slashing her throat and then killed himself by a more effective slashing ! his thoughtful wife survived and named the child  “ johann von nepomuk alexander franz ”  after both her deceased husband and mozart whose true given first name was johann ! : o )(

Just before Ninakawa  (ed. ninagawa-shinzaemon?)  passed away the Zen master Ikkyu visited him.  “ Shall I lead you on? ”  Ikkyu asked

Ninakawa replied:  “ I came here alone and I go alone. What help could you be to me? ”

Ikkyu answered:  “ If you think you really come and go, that is your delusion. Let me show you the path on which there is no coming and no going ”

With his words, Ikkyu had revealed the path so clearly that Ninakawa smiled and passed away

ninakawa was so mortified being written into this piece of fictitious/voynich crap he re-wrote the script, came back to story life built himself a nice estate by the sea with servants and a perpetual income and lived happily ever after, wether he even met ikkyu ever again i don't even know ........... : o)

kogen    writes

in allan wallace's teaching on meditation, he talks about concentration but warns against turning into orange juice

my  reply

alan wallace suffers the same disease as zen , it's all  about  and not actually doing, like  ‘concentrating’  has become an icon you do, but those actually  “doing”  don't intend to concentrate, they simply do and some concentration occurs as the result of that !

that's why zen is mired in incompetence, idiots waffling on about how to do something whereas the talented just do and are not too bothered about how to do it :o)

kogen  replies

try turning off the echo function ! : o(

if you are just going to be a defensive knot you are not going to get anywhere are you ! I don't think I have had one real comment from you who is supposed to be what, I can't write it, or if I did, something nonsensical like  “ following in the footsteps of the ancestors ”  ?

well whatever, they didn't draw masks down or make nonsensical sophistical reply patterings

the zen world seems to be composed entirely of this sort of behavior, even brad warner who slides off into avoidance at any/the slightest sign of trouble

where are the real people in zen

I don't mean the fake mice ! :o(

my further  reply

you write

“ Hello, hellooo, hellooo....all you can know is an echo! ”

well that's the heterodox viewpoint, you must have crappy teachers at green gulch if you think this sort of nonsense is a faint gleam of the real zen !

kogen  replies

That came from the Lankavatara, actually.

my  reply

oh deary me ! crap by any other name :o()

what's the point of being so defensive, don't you have any thoughts of your own?  you know, speaking from your own experience and not hiding behind pages of nonsense like the  lankavatara  which must have been put together by some drunk yogis who were tired of masturbating !

kogen  replies

Okay. Here's me not being defensive. Ready? ...

my  reply   (ed. he put me on moderation !  he cracked :o)

not being defensive is not talking about  “not being defensive”  but addressing the points i have raised ! you know , actually doing !  it's scary to start  “ unwrapping ”  ourselves, but this is the true  “ zen way ”  or path , not the immersion in clichéd bullshit like the lankavatara sutra !

you should have had enough life experience to see this by this point, but i think the alcoholism has regressed you that so you are faced with starting again, which is perhaps abit much for anyone, it's a tough call to pick up again at the start............

you will know you are unwrapping when the world recoils at your touch, this is one of the central issues of zen celibacy versus  “ married/relationships ”  and basically makes   “ married/relationship ”  zen fake because in those contexts  “ unwrapping ”  cannot occur in a productive way..............

for family relationships people it's far better to take the  “ wisdom literature ”  approach like the apocrypha book  “ the wisdom of jesus son of  sirach  ”

but no, this bastardization of zen where married/relationships attempts to shoehorn a celibate approach into shoes that can never fit...............

ecclesiastes  is good too : o)

ah, interesting you have been reading j. krishnamurti, that's why you are open minded and not the usual zen dickhead ! :o)

ug and j krishnamurti knew each other quite well, there are plenty of ug videos around !

what distinguishes one from the usual commenting dickheads in zen, neo advaita etc is one's own creative work, so the sooner that is stepped into the better, cause one wants some distance between oneself and the retired nutcases perverting the web !
