"I'm
gonna kick Markus' @$$" |
|
"Nick's
gonna be on a sugar rush!" |
|
"I
hate clowns, they freak me out."
"You
get what you want if you work hard for it. If you have the patience to
go through the hard days and the hard process, then -- and only then --
can you make it." |
|
"I
don't miss McDonalds because there's one in every country, all around the
world, so I'm in heaven in every country I go to, I find a McDonalds. Even
at the airport...It's everywhere!!" |
|
"Sammy
Davis Jr. was one of my idols growing up... with his whole tap dancing
act and the whole Rat Pack with him, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra and all
those guys." |
|
"We
posed with some parrots in a pet shop once and the pesky critters kept
pecking us. One of them pecked Howie really hard and he screamed the place
down. He still has a small scar to show for it." |
|
"You're
puttin' me on the spot!" |
|
European
fans, but just wait. Mostly, I'm a big ham and I have to be out there doing
crazy stuff on stage for no apparent reason." |
|
"Touring
in your own country is a big proving point. Many people are still skeptical
about us-- we want to show the country what we're really like and I think
we've done that. Our American fans have been really supportive. Sore, they're
not as crazy as the |
|
"I
got two rings from A German fan that I later found out were her parents'
wedding rings. I was shocked to find this out when I had them appraised.
Fans can do crazy, wonderful things." |
|
"We're
just all having a good time. Touring the country and meeting all these
people is a wild experience and I can't think of any other group of people
I'd like to share this with." |
|
"My
brother Phil, and my brother Bill. Don't make 'em angry!" |
|
"...making
sure my zipper is up and my shoes are tied." |
|
"I
love it when girls act sexy. I love all they do to make themselves pretty,
the fingernails, the hair, all of it. It makes a guy feel special. She's
got to have charisma, and she should have plenty of confidence. A sense
of humor is also big with me, we have to be able to laugh things off, especially
if we disagree. Even though it doesn't matter what she looks like, I can
really tell if she's interested when I look into her eyes. The eyes say
it all." |
|
"I'm
a very simple person when it comes to food... But I can put away a lot
of food. I Eat." |
|
"Smile
Howie. Beautiful teeth." |
|
"I
keep thinking I'm just out of High School, I'm just a regular guy, There
was no one crying over me in high school, and now when I look out at an
audience, I see girls just crying like crazy." |
|
Music
is love, love is music, music is my life and I love my life" |
|
 |
| Brian
Littrell |
"Nick
is very goofy. We probably get along the best out of the group" |
|
"I
like a girl who is interested in a career for herself and can treat me
like a nomral person." |
|
"Before
I get on a plane, I kiss my fist and tap it against the plane. It's a good
luck thing." |
|
"That's
the man right there! No! See that man right there, Andre? He's the one
that put me in this CORN-BAWLL lookin' out fit!" |
|
"I'm
very soft you know" |
|
"This
is called the retro-cowboys-R-us-AJ-look-a-like" |
|
"I'd
like to be married and just all those thing's that money can't buy. I'm
from Kentucky, what else can I say? But at the same time, I'd still be
a Backstreet Boy." |
|
"Ohmigosh!
Howard! Censor!!" |
|
"I
love meeting people and hearing what they have to say especially when they
have heard us for the first time. It's really exciting. The best part about
touring is seeing places you have never seen before. I usual sit up front
of the bus and stare out at the scenery. It helps me think and prepare
for the days events." |
|
"It's
like when I said I was in the hospital and I received thousands of cards
and letters from fans from all over the world. It really helped and it
made me realize that I have a part in something very big and important
to many people."
"The
only person I'd be really sorry to lose to is that Marilyn Manson dude." |
|
"He's
a lunatic. He's...he's just AJ." |
|
"We're
really as close as brother. Just like we were saying before, Nick joined
the group when he was only thirteen-years-old. He has grown up with us
and we love him. Now look at his brother Aaron, so young, but so ready
to embrace fame. What people need to succeed is togetherness and a positive
outlook. Sometimes we laugh so much that our stomachs hurt; everyone joins
in and then we can't stop." |
|
"No,
my name is not Gary Barlow" |
|
"I'm
a manly man!" |
|
"I
am interesting in girls who are openly giving and sweet. I can tell right
away when I meet them and speak with them if they have these traits. After
that, it's all about communication. I think I'd like someone intelligent
who wants a career for herself and who is interested in achieving other
goals in life. She must also be trustworthy." |
|
"I
was bouncing around from hair, to makeup, to facial...hair" |
|
"It's
very rewarding to think you're actually affecting lives... I mean, people
who can't even speak english are singing our songs and even the American
audiences-- We've had a lot of loyal fans who have stuck with us a long,
long time." |
|
"Let's
go interrupt shall we." |

| Howie
Dorough |
People
Magazine: Quote of the Day - April 12 - "We asked her what a girl really
wants. Unfortunately, it wasn't any of us." -- HOWIE DOROUGH of Backstreet
Boys, introducing "What a Girl Wants" chartbuster Christina Aguilera
at last night's taping of VH1's "Divas: Men Strike Back." |
|
"I
like a girl who is always looking at things in a postive way, someone who
knows what she wants in life and to go about it getting it." |
|
"A
lot of the times, I would end up having a girfriend for two or three weeks,
if I was lucky." |
|
"We're
hungry and we're movieless." |
|
"The
sound of Backstreet Boys is, and constantly wil be, upgraded. We're going
to stay on the cutting edge and evolve, just like Madonna and Janet Jackson
have done. It's all about making good music." |
|
"I
apprechiate being in a group -- just the five of us bonding like brothers." |
|
"Nick,
there's a lot you don't know." |
|
"I
sometimes have to take a step back and look at all of our accomplishments
and thank God for all the opportunities." |
|
"And
stuff like that..." |
|
"Generally
touring is really what we look forward to, but we do have a few rituals.
We get together in a circle and pray... It helps us focus on the show then
we stretch out, warm-up and say good luck." |
|
"The
schedules can get to you and so can the rehearsals. But when you're out
on stage performing you realize deep inside why you do it. You do it for
the fans that have come to mean so much to you." |
|
"Haven't
gotten used to the baked beans in the morning yet" |
|
"Sure,
we have the occasional argument about where to go or what to eat, but when
it all ends with us laughing hysterically. Being famous is actually quite
funny sometimes. It's great to turn around and just laugh at situations,
and at us." |
|
"Wait!
Wait! We're makin' money!!" |
|
"I
know this is going to sound superficial, but I do look at girls appearance.
I like athletic girls, especially when they can tag along with me when
I go jogging. It's important to be healthy, after all, when you love someone,
you want to spend a long life with that person. I'd still love a girl as
much if she wasn't gorgeous, because beauty is only skin deep. There are
many things like personality, humor, and goodness that can made someone
beautiful on the inside. A mixture in that would succeed in seducing me." |
|
"Uh-oh,
I'm in trouble." |
|
"I
got a piece of advice from one of the guys from the Temptations-- The last
remaining member of the group at one of their shows... He said 'Remember
this whole thing, it's called show business.' he said, 'You've always got
to make sure you're watching your business, because while you're doing
your show, somebody could be taking off with your business.'" |
|
"I
thought [it would be] a glamorous life- going to parties and sleeping
in late. But no way. Sometimes we have to get up at 4 am to get on the
road, and there are always promotions to do. I had no idea how much work
goes into it" |
|
"You
need a haircut like this to attract women, I guess, I don't know." |
|
"There's
scene toward the end, Rick Moranis comes in and sings to his wife, and
you can see me right in the very front of the screen. I'm pulling this
weird face as he sings." |
|
"It's
been a great year! How else could people like us, between the ages 16 and
24, get a chance to travel, see new cultures and perform in front of thousands
of people?" |
|
 |
| Kevin
Richardson |
I
had a great childhood. I loved school, played little-league football, rode
horses and dirt bikes and sang into a hairbrush in front of my bedroom
mirror." |
|
"And
that's the story!" |
|
"No
I did not open my mini bar." |
|
"The
other fellas probably think I'm the hardest, the roughest or the meanest
of the group. But I cry at the drop of a hat sometimes." |
|
"We
were on our best behavior" |
|
"There
have definatly been a lot of temptations on the road. We all come from
very wholesome families, through, so it's never really been a problem." |
|
"Yeah
I slept for like an hour and a half. It was great." |
|
"I
think that love is something that has to grow. It's not something that's
just automatically there. You can be infatuated at first sight, but real
love takes awhile." |
|
"I
want to have a family. But I don't think I could manage a family when travelling
out on the road." |
|
"It's
been real! I'm out." |
|
"At
the first show, I was asked if I'd model, and I said 'Sure! I'd love to!'
I was very flattered." |
|
"The
tour is high energy and a lot of fun. We've been doing all the current
singles and some covers. You'll hear all the hits and some new tracks." |
|
"Nice
acting job Bri...NOT!" |
|
"Sometimes
we have no idea where we are or what own we're in. People don't realize
what this constant running around it like. The make it all worthwhile,
though, especially when you look out into a massive crowd and you realize
that ll that screaming is for you. It's unlike anything I've ever experienced." |
|
"Friendship
is what ties this group together. Without it, we would be lost, what people
don't realize is that we are real good friends. If the band broke up tomorrow,
we would all stick together." |
|
"Canadians
have those cute little accents, eh?" |
|
"This
type of career makes it difficult. Most of the time women are skeptical
about the type of life you lead. I am looking for a serious relationship,
possibly one that will lead into marriage, but I feel it may have to wait
for a few years. Among the most important things are honesty, style and
a beautiful smile. I see my dream girl as sexy or be more exact, sensual,
without ignoring other qualities. It is very important to me that she has
an up-beat personality." |
|
"Is
there a big towel in here? Cause I gotta stick my head in the sink" |
|
"I'm
just a good old country boy." |
|
"We
each have pretty nice tempers when you get us going. I think Howie has
the most control as far as his temper, and Aj's is pretty good at controlling
his temper. Me, Brian and Nick probably have the worst tempers." |
|
"When
we got our first gold record we bawled like babies!" |
|
"It's
gettin' deep in here" |
|
We're
all very big hams, we all like attention. We like being on stage, and when
you get infront of a camera, it's almost like being on stage..." |
|
 |
| Nick
Carter |
"I
love Pizza!, just double cheese, extra thick" |
|
"I
am the Terminator." |
|
"I've
never fallen in love. I've never felt this strong sensation. But I'm still
very young." |
|
"I
like the kinda girl who'll let me hold her real tight and then kiss ker...and
kiss her and kiss her and kiss her..." |
|
"Working
with Tony Bennett was a great experience. He's a legend!" |
|
"Are
you for real?" |
|
"There
was one show where I ripped the back of my pants out. We had done a move,
and it felt like it ripped but I wasn't sure. But then I felt this breeze
and I put my hand back there and I could actually touch my whole butt!
That was pretty bad." |
|
"Did
I do OK Frick?" |
|
"I
still get pretty nervous before every single performance. Maybe one day
I'll grow out of it." |
|
"We
are really satisfied with how the tour has progressed. Sure there have
been some off moments, a few trip-ups here and there but that is to be
expected. We just want everyone to have as much fun as we're having. Sometimes
though, the touring can get lonely, especially when you miss your family.
When I feel like this you can usually find me sitting on the bus listening
to music, or drawing. I love to draw." |
|
"I
love it when fans do crazy things like trying to sneak into our hotel rooms.
I guess we'll need to worry if they stop doing crazy things!" |
|
"Dude!
That's gotta suck!!" |
|
"I'm
probably the craziest of the bunch. They would all tell you that. I have
to keep this attitude since it drives everyone up the wall. Secretly, I
know they wouldn't want to have it any other way. I want to be this crazy,
even when I'm eighty-years-olds!" |
|
"I
can't stand it when girls smoke or wear too much make-up. The worst type
of girl is one who acts like a snob... I just Hate It! Personality is the
most important thing for me. Forget her appearance, if her personality
isn't right it just won't work. A girl who agrees with everything is not
for me, as well. I also love girls who like dancing, hold-hands, long walks
and lots of kisses; but character is by far the most important factor to
me" |
|
"It's
about 2 hours sittin' in a chair straight, not movin' and it's really starting
to affect me now" |
|
"I'm
sorry...Brian and Howie won't let me." |
|
"Sometimes
you don't feel like performing, especially after 50 shows... You're like,
'I have to get through this. How am I going to do this?' You just have
to get up there and do it... Sometimes you're not going to have a good
night and that's another thing people don't realize. It's hard to be what
everybody expects of you. Everybody expects you to walk around and smile
all the time, but it's hard." |
|
"Oh
man! I always mess up! I'm sorry!" |
|
"My
family used to call me Charlie Brown because I had a big round head
with no hair" |
|
"Howie's
just a little stressed out here" |
|
"Kevin-
He really is like a big brother to me" |
