-Bilbo Baggins: 111yrs. Old/ generous with money/ owned Bag-End/ born Sept. 22, 2890/ member of the Council of Elrond/ gave the One Ring to his cousin Frodo Baggins, and left on Long Adventure to Rivendell/

Fellowship of the Ring: (Began in 3018 TA)

-Frodo Baggins: Son of Drogo-\hobbit\ (the ring bearer) born brandybuck. Born on Sept. 22, 2968 TA same as Bilbo. Received ring in 3001 TA. Parents drowned. In 3018 TA became a member of the Fellowship. Bilbo Baggins nephew possesses the Bilbos elven made sword named, Sting, and dwarf made armor, mithril. Around 50 years of age. LIGHT of Earendils Star (A symbol of Hope for all the people of Middle Earth) from Galadriel.

-Peregrin Pippen Took: \hobbit\ frodos cousin. Born in 2990 TA. In 3018 SA became a member of the Fellowship. Silver belt from Galadriel. Sword

-Merry Meriadoc Brandybuck: \hobbit\ frodos cousin. Born in 2982 TA. In 3018 SA became a member of the Fellowship. Silver Belt from Galadriel. Sword

-Sam Wise Gamgee: son of Gaffer Gamgee, a gardener for Bilbo born in 2980 TA-\hobbit\ receives an old horse to carry the fellowships baggage, called Bill, named from the bad man, Bill ferny. Because he was gardener he received a grey wood box with earth from Galadriels orchard, that if one day, land becomes famined and wasted, the dirt from that box would start a great garden, no one has seen. -Aragorn: Son of Arathorn- \Men\ heir to Isuldur, he is a Ranger, secretly known as Strider, known as Dunadan, chief of the people of the North. Last Dunedain chieftain. Born in 2931 TA. Raised by Elrond and fell in love with Arwen. Would allow marriage if becomes king of Anor and Gondor. Since was royal, he was blessed with 3 times longer life span of a mortal. In 3018 SA became a member of the Fellowship. Elessar: Elf Stone (gem) of the house of Elendil, given by Galadriel. Swords sheath, whatever sword he draws from it shall not be stained or broke. -Boromir: son of Denethor II, the Stewart of Gondor, wants the ring badly. Born in 2978 TA. Defended Osgiliath. In 3018 SA became a member of the Fellowship. Galadriel gave a belt of Gold to Boromir as a gift. Sword and shield (DECEASED)

-Gimli: son of Gloin-\dwarf of Erebor\ born in 2879 TA in the Blue Mountains. His uncle Balin, rules Moria. In 3018 SA became a member of the Fellowship. Elf friend. Three strands of hair from Galadriel, and would put her hair in imperishable crystal and keep as a family heirloom, to show the friendship of the Mountain and the Wood. Battle-axe

-Legolas: son of Elf King, Thranduil-\Elf\ King of Elves in Northern Mirkwood. Sindar Elf. Received a Long Bow with the string as an elf hair, and a quiver of arrows from Galadriel. About 2,931 years old. Bow and Arrow

ALL RINGS (except for the one ring) were made by the ELVES OF EREGION / forged in 1590 SA. Galadriel said, the rings gave power according to the possessor.

SAURONS RING was forged in Orodruin, in 1600 SA.

Elwing and Earendil: Queen and king of Numenor, son of King Tuor and Idril Celebrindal (Half man, half Elf). Earendil met Elwing, later his wife. He was in search for Valar. When he got there he asked for help and MANWE( leader?) did. Elwing decided to be a elf and Earendil decided to be the race of Men. In the war of the wrath, he fought the dragon Ancalagon at Angband, and slew him. Sailed back with Silmaril (the bird that elwing came to him as) on his forehead. Aka Earendil the Blessed and the Mariner. Name as star is Gil-estel, later Venus, the shining star. He was the king that defeated morgoth in the First age

Tinuviel: Daughter of Thingol and wife, ex-wife of Berahir, Luthien Tinuviel. Mother of Lord Elrond and Elros. Married to Beren.

Berahir and Luthien Tinuviel: married, parents (men and elf) of Beren

Beren: son of Berahir and Luthien (elf friend) men and elf, father of Elrond, twin brother Elros.

Elendil: Men- Elf friend, King of Men( Gondor and Anor), Father of Isuldur, died at last alliance of Men and Elf at Mordor, at the slopes of Orodruin.

Isuldur: men-son of elendil, cut ring of Saurons hand with elendils sword

Valandil: son of Isuldur

Ontar: squire to Isuldur, Brought back elendils broken sword

Tom Bombadil: Master of the Forest, Big help to hobbits, nothing evil bothers him. He was created before LOTR. Tom represented an existence whose key desire is in understanding. Power and domination is useless to him, and have no effect. No fear. The ring has no power over him because he is outside the issue of power.

Radagast the Brown: Wizard, same order of Gandalf and Saruman. (Quenya: Aiwendel). 1 of the five Istari, who was sent by Valar, to help the threat against Sauron. Sent to help bring men and elf together. He fell in love with the animals. Some say was sent back top Valar.

Bilbo: Frodos Uncle. Born in 2890 TA. Went with the 13 dwarves and Gandalf to find treause and killed Smaug (The Hobbit). got ring from Gollum, left it for frodo

Barliman Butterbur: house keeper of Prancing Pony. Help them get supplies

Goldberry: wife of Tom Bombadil, sings like an elf

Sacksville Bagginses: Relatives of Bilbo, doesnt get along

Mr. Maggot: hobbits were stealing from his farms, but wasnt mad

Saruman the White: Men\ ruler of Isengard, Head wizard, leader of the order. Possible that Saruman has created a ring of power. (gandalf says that he saw a ring on his hand, when he went to see him, saruman tells him) He was a Maia of Aule, the smith? Used to control probably his orcs, uruh kai, half breeds etc. Saruman the White (Man of Skill) (Sindarin: Curunir(man of skill) Quenya: Curumo)

The Witch King: leader of the Ringwraiths. Sauron gave him one of the rings. Protected by a prophecy that No MAN could slay him. Originally a sorcerer for Sauron in the SA. He was killed in the SA, but since the ring was not destroyed, he was brought back in the form of the Witch king Angmar. He attack Gondor for a thousand of years. Disguised as a rider in black, went after Frodo in the shire. He was able to stab Frodo, but it did not kill him. He kept on the chase to rivendell and at Minas Tirith, is where he killed King Theoden. Killed by Eowyn, princess of Rohan.

Sauron: Maia spirit/ Lord of the Rings, Chief Lieutenant, servant of Melkor (Leader) the Dark lord, Ruler of the evil realm of Angband. When Melkor was sent to void, he moved into Mordor. In 1200 SA (5^th century?), Sauron went to elves in deception as Annatar, lord of gifts, but in a dark plan, ensared them. He knew the firstborns were the best. He taught them secret lore and crafting. Some say he had a part in the building of the rings, all in a part of a plan to get them in the end. The Numereaons challenged Sauron in 3262 SA and was defeated. Vanquished in 3441 second age (SA). In 1000 TA he became lidless eye (Eye of Sauron), and hid for nearly 2000 years in Mirkwood. In 2941, re-entered Mordor and started work on Bara-dur. He has in his possession the nine rings and 4 rings of the dwarves and other lesser works of Mirdain ( lesser magic rings and crafts) /Gwaith-I-Mirdain/

Melkor: The Dark lord of Utumnoand in the dark ages. He was the king of Sauron, the Balrog, and all that was bad. He was locked up by the Valar, and sent in void by them also.

Enemies: orcs (elves tortured and turned evil), trolls, wolves, birds, chattel, wargs, uruk kai, barrow wights

Wizards (ISTARI): wizards were Maiar (spiritual beings of lower rank than the Valar) sent to the middle earth by Valar in human form as Messengers to help in the struggle against Sauron. Incarnate Angel, being incarnated limited their power, intentionally, so they could help by inspiring the people to help themselves, not to do the job for them. Only 5 was sent by the valar, but only three are mentioned. On the arrival to the Middle Earth shores, Gandalf was given one of the three elven rings, Narya.

Eowyn: beautiful golden haired niece of king theoden, lord of the Mark. She fell in love with Aragorn. Disguised her self as Rohan soilder and went to the battle at Pelennor fields. Received great fame. Prophecy protected the witch king because no man could slay him. Revealed herself and with the help of Merry, slew the With king. Poison of Black Breath, and went in to coma. Saved by aragorn, fell in love with faramir, boromir bro. Steward of gondor.
