Joey Pederson is from
Grand Forks,North Dakota and races the #7P late model at River Cities Speedway and other tracks on the NLRA tour.He started
racing before he had a drivers license which meant that they registerd the car under his dads name. His first season was at
Hallock in the streets division,he and his dad shared the drivers seat.I could see that Joey had a natural driving ability
and with the right equipment would be a great driver. After spending a year in streets and going thru alot of hoosiers, his
dad turned the wrenches and it was up to Joey to keep tires on the car.I can still see him jumping a giant tractor tire in
the infield and wrecking 2 tires and his dad saying now he's learning a expensive lesson. The next season he moved up to the
hobby division in Grand Forks. His first hobby was a old late model and a good car to learn in but in his third year in hobbys
he had a real good chassis and won three features that year.Grand Forks phased out the hobbys in favor of Wissota Superstocks
and Joey bought a bought a brand new superstock chassis from Bruce Hart. That was a very good year and he won alot of
races at tracks like Grand Forks,Greenbush,Hamilton,Marshall County Speedway and Winnipeg. His fiercest competition was John
Seitz and Brad Seng. Those three drivers raced eachother hard everywhere they went.I refered to them as the big 3 because
they were always a threat to win.Joey raced in the superstock division for 5 years and won over 70 features and track championships
and the respect of his fellow competitors.Three years ago he teamed up with racer Steve Moen and started driving late models.Last
year he won his first late model feature at Grand Forks.I look for him to win more in 2003. Joey's wife is
also a race car driver and they did race in supers at the same tracks and she never cut him any slack either..LOL...
