Fishermead Neighbourhood Watch

History
Fishermead Neighbourhood Watch was formed in 1986 by Geoffrey Taylor who also formed the local residents' association, MK Federation of Residents' Associations and was one of the members of the local government parish council when that was created from the former parish meeting.

The Fishermead Neighbourhood Watch works directly under the Thames Valley Police. It is not affiliated to the Milton Keynes Neighbourhood Watch Association.

All co-ordinators and members attend the TVP NHW meetings as these are organised by the police and not the MK association.

Contact
The Co-ordinator may be contacted via email at fishermeadnhw@dsl.pipex.com

Co-ordinators
When you consider signing up new members please remember that they must now be on the telephone. This can be either a land line or a mobile. This number must be quoted on the application form. The addition of a facsimile number is also helpful but not essential.  Ring Master messages may be delivered to you by telephone, fax, or email (your choice). Those of us on the Internet may be lucky enough to be using an ISP (like Freeserve) that provides fax delivery via the standard e-mail channels thus obviating the need for a separate dedicated fax line or machine. If you use Broadband try using eFax Messenger Plus. This is a free service that gives a broadband user the ability to send a receive faxes using their PC without having to have a non ADSL/ISDN modem fitted.

Any aspiring co-ordinator must be informed that they will be the subject of a police search.

To obtain membership forms see the contact details lower on this page. Completed forms should be returned to the address printed on them. Please ensure that all information requested is printed and not in long hand. Membership cannot be processed without this completed form.

Information relating to members is by law subject to the Data Protection Act 1994 and the supplemental legislation issued in 2000. These new regulations cover paperwork as well as computer data (it is feasible that this could include your Filofax). The police will be the sole suppliers of information in this respect as each batch is processed. Only estate/area co-ordinators receive the full membership lists. The police do not release names or other details of members or coordinators to members of the public.

Any faxes received from Ringmaster are photo-copied and distributed to those members who do not own a facsimile machine.
