My Mini Rex are actually the breed that I
have raised for the longest period of time and oddly enough the one that I have been slowest at getting results from.
But the summer of 2002 brought quite a few surprises after I purchased 2 bucks. One buck was a Broken Tort and the other
was a Solid Red. These 2 bucks served as building blocks for my herd and are responsible for the bowling ball type that
you see on a lot of my Jrs now. The Mini Rex have been a constant joy for me despite the long time that it has taken
to get the quality out of them. I love their personalities.. which are about as round and chubby as their bodies!
I have actually thought myself lucky to have such well behaved Mini Rex since I have had several breeders tell me that Mini
Rex are normally "flighty and a little nippy". Mine have never been so. Which makes everyone tell me I do not
have "normal" Mini Rex. I take pride in the fact that when I sell my Jr's that they are well behaved and very loving
rabbits. I have sold a lot of Mini Rex for pets simply because people can't get over their mellow personalities.
So from my experience I find the Mini Rex to be excellent pet bunnies because they are mellow, loveable, and a perfect little
armful and huggable size!
